Just A Minute

We hear it all the time, especially if you have kids. "Just a minute, Dad” or “Give me a minute I'll get to it.” Time is short and we only get so many minutes in a lifetime.

When we're young, a minute on its own seems insignificant. But as we age those minutes add up and tend to be a little more important. I'm closing in on my 59th birthday and I cherish every minute I have on this earth. However it's easy to let them slip by. I'm burning a few by sitting here and writing this versus going to the gym as planned.

Minutes gone but not wasted, just strategically reallocated!🙄

But it's easy to waste a minute here and there. If you added up every minute you've wasted in your lifetime. Like the minute it takes you to read this unimportant post about wasting minutes, you could buy a few hours, maybe days.

This is why watches are our saviors of time. That’s why it’s important to wear a cool watch you like to look at. It’s a personal assistant that keeps us in check and reminds us when we’re running late. Like going to the gym!

So remember you only get 525,640 minutes in a year, well 527,040 in a leap year

Make Every Minute Count!

From one of my favorite songs “Little Wonders”

Time falls away

And these small hours, these little wonders

These twists and turns of fate

Time falls away

And these small hours, these small hours

Still remain

·

All this talk of wasted minutes is going me depressed. Need a beer or 10 after work so that I can ummmmm

Forget

Ticking away, the moments that make up a dull day.

Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way

·

That watch looks properly sized. I think that it is a 1938 Bulova Banker.

It took me more than a minute to research that.

Big fan of The Baz!🙏

This is where my appreciation for Baz started!😉

I read somewhere that one hypothesis for why time feels as though it speeds up as we get older is that our brains are constantly taking snapshots. And as we age, it takes fewer and fewer snapshots, so there simply aren’t as many moments to take notice of in our brains.

Don’t know if that’s a bunch of hooey, but definitely true that months go by and it feels like days now!

Might have to steal this one.

Time is by far the most valuable currency any of us have. Like many things in life that we can get back, time is not one of them...

Thoughtful post Shahn!

Thanks Danilo!

Yesterday is a canceled check…

Tomorrow is a promissory note…

The only cash you have is Today…

So spend it wisely

I totally didn't need a watch until I became really important 😎

"Borrowed Time" Who has the 800 number for that Loan department?

In modern vernacular, "minute" has somehow come to mean a long time.

"Yo I haven't seen you in a minute!"

We're all prisoners of the present, emerging from a past we can't change, while being propelled into a future we can't know.

Great post mate and so very true. Time is our most precious asset

·

Awesome post. Yes times precious, but it's what you do with it that counts. Yes you've 'wasted' precious minutes writing this and I've 'wasted' precious minutes reading this. But you've enjoyed writing it and I've certainly enjoyed reading this so not so wasted after all. And we could always strategically waste a few more minutes looking at watch straps (and some cash)😉👍.

·

Spot on my friend. Totally agree. 🍻

Well, you have some time to kill if you live in an Oris ProPilot X and only get to peek out of the window once a month, like today.
