Latest addition and a new skill
Hi all. I have added my first Grand Seiko to my collection. It’s the SBGJ249 ShoSho. I tried one on about 1.5 years ago and I haven’t been able to forget it. About 6 months ago I decided it was my next watch and started to save up for it adding to my existing watch fund monthly. I have been keeping an eye on prices via Chrono24 and was split between worn or new. I ended up purchasing new from Japan as the prices there are very competitive and it comes with an international warranty. I have been wearing the watch for a couple of weeks and I am very happy with my purchase. The watch dial is incredible and the finishing on the case etc is first class. It’s also the first watch I have sized myself so another skill learnt but it was a little stressful the first time I tried after watching numerous Utube video’s.

Your first two pictures look like they were photgraphed indoors versus your last two pictures. The difference is stunning.
You are correct the dial changes significantly depending on the light source, it’s one of the things that initially attracted me to this specific model 👍.
