I also have a 2100 as my dedicated gym watch. Took this on Friday evening and sent it to a friend with the caption “This is my ‘it's almost over and I'm trying to be a brave little toaster’ face. 😭”

Haha nice! I feel you I was pretty tired today but had to grind it through. Very good gym watch! For 99 bucks it’s hard to beat
I wear my Apple Series 1 for workouts for the heart rate tracking. The 5+ year old battery swelled and popped the screen off a few weeks ago, but a $16 battery replacement kit from Amazon revived it for another few years of workouts.

I have never worn a smart watch but may look into one. I am doing some remote hunting later this year and want SOS capabilities
This is actually both my workout/climbing and travel watch. I wanted one watch to function as 2 tools and although it’s big, it performs its duties perfectly. Timing bezel for 3 minutes between sets and 8 minutes between attempts on a boulder problem. The local jump hour and GMT hand, well, good for traveling.

This looks great and serves all those purposes well. I love when tool watches get true use out of them like this
Probably very much depends on the gym session you are doing. I guess if your gym session includes sparring (you list MMA in profile), it's a very different kettle of fish. When I've done that in the past, watches were of course banned.
I do short sets of heavy weights. Mostly for neuromuscular training, injury prevention and staving off age related drop in T. But it's cool in my garage and not really sweaty. I'm using kettlebells and free weights and what's on my wrist doesn't matter much, being comfy is the only requisite. No need for HR or distractions during a weights session either. Formex makes a great sports watch IMO. Love their stuff.
Endurance training sessions are quite different of course - then I want full data recording and use a Garmin 945 watch or Edge 510 bike computer, both with optical HR. It's needed for optimizing further sessions of training and for racing.
Another 5610 here. "Dedicated" in the sense that it's the only watch I'll wear to the gym, but not in the sense that I'll wear it only to the gym. Because that sexy hunk of Casio squareness can go anywhere from the boardroom to the bedroom. I mean, in theory. Not that I have relevant experience of either. I'm going to shut up now.

Yeah I never wear a watch when I am training mma. I lift heavy 5-7 days a week mostly for looks and general strength but I don’t lift to heavy. A few weeks ago I started going heavy to try to see what my bench, squat, and deadlift max was I ended up tearing my pec 😂 I had to get a plasma shot into it

Haha I am the same way my g shock is always on in the gym but not just in the gym it can go anywhere. It’s seen it’s fair share of booty too

I earned a second inguinal hernia from trying too heavy . My silly fault. You think in your 60s you would calm the farm a bit but as I age I am trying to keep the skateboarding surfing thai chi and red fish karta work up to my age speed at least 🙂 After my op I will need to tone down on the weights in trade for flexibility work 🙂 good luck with your pec injury

I either wear my trusty G-Shock GWM5610 or one of my older dive watches like my Seiko Samurai.

A couple great choices

Timex ironman is my go to gym watch/watch i wear that reminds me to go to the gym.

No Watch No Jewelry...It's ALL about FOCUS!!! 💪🏽😎👊🏽
It's a true contender for being an everyday beater!

A 20+ year old G-Shock I got as a gift during college is my daily gym driver. Mostly for the stopwatch function.

Good point! But I love watches too much
I have a membership that I don’t use much but when I do go it is my regular old Casio. Light, slim, and comfortable.

Definitely might have to add one into my collection myself

I have a Northern edge tactical watch. It cost around $35. It does the job, and at this price easily replaceable.

Being easy to replace is definitely something people should take into consideration
