And so it begins
So here goes…my first ever post on social media. I don’t do social media. The idea of it doesn’t really do anything for me. At 38 I realise I’m probably a bit of an anomaly there!! However, a couple of years ago I started down this rabbit hole of watch enthusiasm and realised that nobody else I know is all that interested when I start taking about it! My wife tries but eventually I see her eyes glazing over!! So having browsed round Watch Crunch for a few days I realised this was a great outlet.
The watch on my wrist in this post was the one that started it all. A 30th and wedding present from my now wife that was an amazing surprise for me (I returned the favour after the birth of our first son). It still means the world to me 8 years down the line and no matter what else I collect this will always top it. So this watch started a passing interest in watches over the years that all of a sudden became an obsession a couple of years ago. I’ve made a couple of rash purchases that I’ve had to learn from but now feel that I’m beginning to understand this weird and wacky world!

My wife is not a morning person and I get bored sleeping more than a few hours, I am a voracious reader of non fiction especially when I can locate authors whose writings align with my worldviews but the topic that most annoys the Mrs is my lifelong obsession with mechanical timepieces. Each morning she wants her one cup of strong coffee, the delivered morning paper and one hour of quiet about watches. She once wrote me a cheque for $500 to stop with the watch talk. She thinks Watch Crunch is great for my mental health!

Lool, what was the point? Cheque was from a joint account, couldn’t be certain I would be using her hard earned dollars. Wives of watch guys are really supportive, good sports!🙃

I’m similar in that I don’t have any other social media, I’ve made tons of poor decisions and financial mess ups in my watch journey. I find this stuff interesting and love it. I too have a lovely wife. I recently joined WC and have nothing but positive things to say. It’s a great vibe and easy place to spend a few minutes and take a break.
