"CaSKX"

TGV (aka The Urban Gentry) recommended this watch just few weeks ago. It wasn't easy to find as Casio do have a strange product policy where they don't offer many models here in germany. But few days later I god it from Italy I guess...Grazie.

It was something what I was looking for. As an affordable resin watch for my exersizes I usually have my AE-1200. But the only disatvantage: it's digital, so I can't see the time while I'm on the bicycle and need bouth hands in the traffic.

Lume: So we don't need to expect the best lume for 30 Euro. But legibility was surprisingly good. Of course the strong shining fades away after few minutes, but the weak shining stays surprisingly long. Also the big white indizes helps. It is total enough for two hours workout.

The days are in two languages.

It is very light.

The bezel does rotate but without clicks. The golden hands and details looks cool without being too much.

For 30 Euros it's an amazing and great looking watch.

TGV asked for a suitable nickname for this piece. One fellow suggest CaSKX (Casio + SKX) due to some similarities to the SKX, especially the day date window and the indizes. And we including TGV commited that this was an great Idea.

So...ladies and gentleman...may I introduce: The CaSKX.

Btw. I have 16cm (6,5 inch? ...I guess?) And it fits comfortable.

Thsnks. No, nothing modded. it's a standard model from Casio. Ref is MRW-200H-1E

Nice! Thanks for sharing!

·

Nice watch, excellent value for money, big bangs for your bucks.

·

Nice.

I'd call it the Mr. White. (From breaking bad)

Like the g shock MR G. But this one is the MRW model.

Stupid I know. Lol

·

I considered picking one up myself. Very cool piece!

I've had a very similar experience. I love my AE1200 and had been wearing it for moderate work outs, mountain biking, hiking etc. But occasionally I found I was accidentally hitting a pusher and changing the time zone. Now don't get me wrong the AE1200 is just so fun to wear but I also saw The Urban Gentry video on this MRW and it seemed a great way to go. I immediately got online and found them for sale for 30 dollars. About a week passed and I finally decided to buy one. Well I think TGVs video gave everyone the desire to own this because most places were sold out/no longer available or the price had gone up to 60 dollars. I found one remaining place that was selling them at 35 dollars and I ordered it. Should arrive in another day or so. Lots of other MRW models are out there but not so much this particular version. Thanks for sharing your story and the picture - looks great and congratulations!

A little bit smaller than a Duro but about one third the weight make them easy to wear in summer, even with the plastic strap. It is drip-dry care-free active wear.

Thanks.

Yea....when I checked immediatly the market I also found some for around 60, which is in my opinion too much.

Enjoy your one too.

I own the dominant colorway…and heartily enjoy it. I am envious, though, that you got the gilded version. It’s quite smart.

My nickname imput was Casiscaphe!

A lot of value here, but most Casio are. I like it but I end up putting it in a box and not using it a lot.

·

Great watch!

Could you please tell me about the loudness of the ticking sound? Is it noticeable?

But that one looks great too. More tactical

It lays in the night right beside me. I never took any notice. It's quite quite. 😊

Actually I have many quartz watches in my collection. I never heard anything. So I always wondered what kind of watches others have that they keep stay awayk at night 😊

Lolz I have two of the bigger brothers and they are da bomb!

I rotate these two when I’m at the beach. The blue dial was previously filled with silicone oil which I believe shortened the battery life. Yesterday, I opened the case, emptied out the oil, cleaned the dial and case of any residual oil, replaced the battery and now they are both ready for the beach once again. 👍

The MRW-200H is a great, inexpensive watch that comes in a lot of fun colorways.

I once owned a Timex Weekender that was so loud, the missus would ask me to keep it in a drawer at night because the ticking sound kept her up. (It was pretty loud).

Yes they are.

The white one is really cool.

Oh wow....

My Quartzes are from

  • Tissot

  • Casio

  • Junghans

  • Frederique Constant

and I only hear them when I hold the watch watches tight on my ear.

I never experienced a Timex before and my last swatch was decades before. But good too know. I never thought about that quartz watches could be that noisy. That would also even annoy me.

Hello! I was the fellow that suggested Caskx on TGV's vid comments. I still think the nickname fits and I enjoy this model quite a lot. I do like how the other models with numbers rather than round and rectangular indices resemble Luminox watches. How about calling those Casiox? Casinox? lol... anyway, other than the second hand missing the minute marks, I like the watch.

·

Hi my friend.

A pleasure to meet you here.

Hahaha 😆 Casinox sounds great! Yea ...I also recognized the similarities. In my opinion the most affordable tactical watch.

Btw. Thanks forvthe cool picture. They look like twins.

·

Hello, and nice meeting you as well. I'm glad you liked the picture. Thanks to The Mad Watch Collector and the Urban Gentry, I bought a few Casios and one G-Shock alternative... the bizarre, weird, and obnoxiously fun to wear, Nixon "The Unit: That's What She Said".

And now this one is on the way. 🙄

But the dial really does give this model a more distinct look and the color scheme is very nice.

I ordered from it from Temu I’ve never purchased from them before so we shall see. Reviews seem good. All in for $17, how do you say no? 🤪
