Unused Quartz

My larger affordable Timex collection is starting to grow more mechanical these days, but still have a larger Quartz collection. For the record, I love them both equally. However, there are some quartz watches that need battery changes. Do any of you simply remove the battery in your quartz watches that you know you will not be wearing that often?

I leave the batteries in. Most quartz watches are good for 2 to 3 years with the batteries in the watches.

If I know I won't be wearing it for a while, I pull the crown on my analog quartz watches to stop the movement. Doesn't work on my digital, but I will only pull the battery if it dies, at which point I will replace it.

Yes for long term storage I remove the battery , I have some swatches I would like to keep for a long time so they are pretty much kept in a roll with battery's removed

·

I would only remove it when the battery runs empty. I have seen battery leaks in the past, and it would damage the movement.

Only on quartz watches that I don't wear anymore because I have worn them to a degree that the PVD coating came off, and they look like they have some form of skin disease. Otherwise all my quartz watches have a battery, and I check them periodically. But I do like to wear my quartz watches as a weekend or evening watch.

Now that I can change my own batteries I just let them run

Remove used dead battery to prevent leaks that will damage the watch.

Yes !! Definitely , but only my Accutron Spaceviews !! It would kill me if I left a battery in and it leaked !!!
