Casual Tank

I saw a post on here a few days back about someone wanting to casualize the Tank. I have been doing that since getting my Tank, and I am a big fan of wearing it casually. So, as I often do, I will be heading out this evening in jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers rocking the Tank Solo on a casual blue leather strap.

Do you all think the Tank is strictly formal/dress or is it a handy casual wear as well?

I had my Santos Dumont XL on alligator strap along for bathing suit on the beach and dinner. I’ve worn mine hunting and with sneakers and joggers, also fishing. Why not, I even got a rubber strap for it. Third pic is me in a performance shirt after working in the yard with my dogs and back from a coffee and plant run.

·

this makes a good case for informal , very nice !

I casual mine all the time. Looks just fine at Target as it does at a steakhouse

I think the Tank is great casual or formal. Having said that, I always believe it is more of how you feel that matters most.

·

IMO the Tank is visually 80% strap 20% watch so it's really a bracelet that can go with anything.

·

Casual is the new formal in 2024 , a watch is meant to be worn so ... Regardless of the attire, let's wear what we like when we like .

Cheers 🥂

The Tank's versatility is quite often overlooked. It can be formal, semi-formal, casual, for both men & women.

·

I only wear a tux with mine, you jeans wearing heathens.

But, I consider a monocle and top hat to be quite optional.

Near perfect watches

·

You can pretty much wear a tank anytime, and I love that. It’s classy enough for dress wear but not so flash it doesn’t work with jeans. Now that’s it’s been brought up, I’m going to try to wear mine more.

·

My tank is my usual go-to either for work or jeans and a t-shirt 🙌🏼

·

I rock the Tank casually all the time

I often like to casualize my tank too.

I find this much more relaxing than those more formal steel colours.

·

As much as I like the tank, it's still too formal for casual use imo. They have the Santos for a more handy casual wear

·

I’m a firm believer that you can wear quite literally any watch with a casual dress unless you’re gonna be in an environment where you’re gonna sweat a lot and you have it on a leather strap.

·

I agree. Great casual watch on bracelet or less formal strap.

Pure class 👌🏻

I think if I was ever to be in a position to afford a Tank it would with the intention to dress it down with a casual strap and have it as a daily.

·

love the tank dressed down. gives us more opportunity to wear it!

·

ALL watches can be worn with casual wear, and almost any way can be used with dress attire in 2024.

·

The Cartier Tank is very versatile - you can dress it up/down easily and I've done so on multiple occasions! Jeans and a shirt, great! Suit, no tie, fantastic 👌

·

I wear my tank way more often in the casual context. It is a perfect watch.

·

The #cartier tank is one of the few dress watches I like. The other main one is the reverso. I think it's the watch pushing me to look more into them.

I think the JLC Reverso is an absolutely beautiful watch as well. The Cartier Tank is easier to obtain price wise (particularly the non precious metal quartz versions) and the sleeker option, but the JLC checks all the right boxes for sure.

Agreed. The Reverso would be one I'd get when I become Scrooge McDuck rich 🤣. I'd probably opt for the Tank in non precious metal.
