GMT SSK 023 or SSK 001 for character ,looks and value ?

I wouldn’t say no to either but would go with the 023, prefer the field vibe more than the diver.

If you want a gmt for travel, the one with the twistable bezel is the only true choice.

I'm currently looking at GMTs for my next piece, and I have both on my radar... with my 7inch wrist I'm leaning towards the ssk001/ssk003... plus I prefer the rotating 24hr bezel to be able to track a 3rd timezone which is useful at my work.

I own one and I want the other! Both is good… I have the SSK001, and it’s vastly exceeds my expectations. And while it is a fairly big watch in my estimation, it wears close to the wrist and just feels much more solid than its price point. I can’t speak to the 0023 because I’ve never held one, but I do like the aesthetics of it. I’m wearing my Hamilton automatictoday probably because I just love the field style watches anyway… Long story short both are excellent watches and your definitely not gonna make bad decision either way you go

The 001 has an “it” factor that the 023 doesn’t.

I’ve got the SSK001, so not inclined to get the 023 even though I like that one also. I’m a big fan of the mineral glass bezel on the 001, and the large lumed indices 😊

OG of the nh34. I’ll take the blue berry. Actually got one. It will be a classic cause it was the first sub 500 GMT family watch that is reliable and backed by a top 3 watch company in the world. Great topic. Love everyone’s comments.

I have both just different color variations the field watches way more wearable size wise you can see the diver in between my turtle and monster it’s a big one!

I like the unusual GMT hand on the field-style model. Most GMT watches use arrows.

The SSK001 because it’s its own thing. The other is an homage to the Rolex Explorer 2. Which isn’t bad, but for me I prefer things that are their own design.

Rotatable bezel wins!

GMT SSL 023 any day. Love the look of it. Don’t care about the rotating bezel. Two timezones is more than enough for me.

Tough choice and both have their pros and cons. I’d personally go for the SSK001J1 as the JDM version is all brushed even the jubilee (on the K1 it’s polished center links) and the bracelet of the SSK023 is a bit chunkier to the eye. A rotating bezel is always good fun. Also it doesn’t hurt that the crown just copied the bezel of the SSK 😂

I have the Ssk003 and Im not in love with it. It wears on my flat small wrists funny. Like its too heavy of a head and rides up so maybe its sized wrong on me, but the weight and wear-ability makes it see little wrist time.

SSK023 all the way. I tried the 001 because I loved the way it looks in photos, and I didn’t like it in person, the polished surfaces looked bad IMO, it also sits too tall on my wrist.

023 appeals to me more - probably due to being a smaller case size and field rather than dive inspired.

The SSK001 is one of my most worn watches and whats started with a „bang for the buck - why not?“ watch got one of my most worn watches in my collection. The dimension, the quality and (yes - you won‘t hear this often from a seiko in this priceclass) the bracelet are perfect for a daily nobrainer. I work regulary with international customers and the office GMT function is enough for me to track timezones from another country for business. If this one fall apart I‘ll definitely get another one (and another one … and another one) 😄

I have the SSK005. I don't wear it much but both of these are great options for the price. The NH34 is a game changer for Seiko. I build a lot of mod watches, have yet to do one with the nh34 but love the idea when I find the right one.

I would go with both since they are different. Personally I'd go with the PVD 023 for a more tactical look and contrast with the 001

I opted for the SSK023 simply for the steel bezel. Can't go wrong with either one though!
