Microbrand Watch of the Year 2022

We at TheTimeBum.com have taken to naming our favorite watches at year end. They must be microbrands, affordable, released in 2022, and we can't nominate a watch we have not actually laid hands on. That last one eliminates a lot. This year, we chose the Lorier Zeyphr as our winner and named 16 others as the Best of the Rest. How did we do? Who would you have chosen? https://www.thetimebum.com/2022/12/microbrand-watch-of-the-year-2022.html

That's excellent. That is a beautiful watch. I met him in Austin in November and got a Constellation from him.

Some interesting selections from the normal stuff, kudos. Most of what I liked were hold overs from the previous year. I would have the following in my top:

  • Monta Skyquest Opaline Edition
  • Farer Meredith
  • Furlan Marri Rosso Grigio
  • Atelier Wen’s new Perception

All great choices. I really need to get my hands on an Atelier Wen.

That brown Bremoir is a pretty watch.

Those are some nuce looking watches. I haven’t got hands on with any of them yet but I have got my eye on some Farer watches particularly their field watch line with the pointer date. I’ve got three micros for consideration:

Cemence Watches

Currently my most worn watch. Tom the founder has only put out the Photic diver so far but has been talking about a field watch this year.

Borealis

I was so impressed with my Sintra and their level if service I pre-ordered their gmt diver.

And E. C. Andersson Watches

A Swedish brand run by 2 guys in Gothenburg.

All three seem to fit your criteria and sell under the $1000 mark.

My runner-up would be another #lorier … The Falcon Series III. I’m stealing @WrapItUp’s when she isn’t looking. 🤫

I’m biased, but I think the Oak & Oscar Humboldt GMT should be on your list 🙂

Great list, so many awsome brands out there! For me personally my favorite amongst the microbrands I bought in 2023 must be this HAIM Legacy SE 😍
