Which Watches?

Apparently the Senator from NJ was allegedly accepting items of value including "luxury watches" for favors connecting domestic businesses with foreign Investors. Alledgedly he was sent pictures and/or links to watches costing between $9K-$10K. Which watches do you think he was allagedly offered? (I don't have a dog in this hunt: he apparently pleaded guilty to all charges previous to this new set of allegations which supersede the previous charges. My question isn't whether he did right or wrong, just wondering which watches.)

You sold your integrity for $10,000 watches? Oy vey, that's cheap. At least scam a Patek Philippe or a six figures watch first become taking your periodical cut. *Sighs* 😅

Sadly politicians have been known to sell out for less

That was my thought, too.

Maybe, for people that rich, it's below their resolution. I won't consider myself being corrupt for taking a ballpoint pen or a mug...

(Jk)

In my past job, there was a value limit for receiving gifts - 50 € or thereabouts. You could fit a Casio in that...

Yep, there are gift limits. Maybe the rules don’t apply to certain folks.

If sold us out for a Frank Mueller or Hublot, throw the book at him🤣

Yeah, the seriousness of the crime has everything to do with how good the watches were. If the guys got taste, maybe he doesn’t need as much prison time.

·

Senators everywhere are shaking in their Ferragamo shoes. " You mean it's a crime to accept gifts?"

·

Hope they sent him Hublot links 😄

·

Since the whole affair with the gold bars involved the Qatari Royal Family, I'm sure we're not talking about Invictas. (But I couldn't find any further detail, either.)

Hey, at the state houses, I bet a Pagini Design would suffice

·

At least he has his priorities straight. Joking. What a ultra maroon.

·

Sad, sad, sad. No material object is worth your losing your good reputation and integrity.

·

Not surprised

·

He should have been to the point and asked for A Lange and Sohne multiple complication... politicians eh

·

Invicta Private Label, but at MSRP....😉😜

He is a politician. He doesn’t have a good reputation or integrity.

·

Had the same question when I saw the superseding charges

·

It looks like it was a Patek 5060J and a Calatrava
