I've spent a decent amount of time studying WWI aeronautical history.
My parents are the expert on my distant dead relatives - will ask this weekend when I see them. It's their picture, so can they provide a more full backstory.
Closer to modern history - my Grandfathers Brother was the adjutant to Winston Churchill during the second world war and my great grandfather, Reginald Walker, was the Royal surgeon in the late 1800s early 1900s. Sadly, I'm an anonymous cog in the machine, with a nice history.

Sing it!
Sing it!
Revvin' up your engine
Listen to her howlin' roar
Metal under tension
Beggin' you to touch and go
Highway to the Danger Zone
Ride into the Danger Zone
Headin' into twilight
Spreadin' out her wings tonight
She got you jumpin' off the deck
Shovin' into overdrive
Highway to the Danger Zone
I'll take you right into the Danger Zone
You'll never say hello to you
Until you get it on the red line overload
You'll never know what you can do
Until you get it up as high as you can go
Out along the edges
Always where I burn to be
The further on the edge
The hotter the intensity

Makes it that much cooler. He had taste. 🤌

You screw up just this much, you'll be flying a cargo plane full of rubber dog s**t out of Hong Kong.
No quotes necessary, and yes any time/any place there is sand, this scene is homaged, IFYKYK 🤪
“I don’t like that look Mav”
That is a beauty for sure.😎
Take me to bed or lose me forever!
"The trophy for second place in is the ladies room."
“The plaque for alternates is in the ladies room” - that quote might not work in a modern remake 😂
"We didn't slide into Cougar's spot, it was ours ok."

Of course you are probably right, but they said it.
Is this un Titanium? Love it!
Correct!
Thanks everyone for posting with your quotes, it was fun reading them all.
"Goodness, Gracious"
"Great balls of fire"
Ich verspüre das Bedürfnis nach Geschwindigkeit
Correct!
Beautiful
I’ve got no flieger :( guess I’ll be flying a cargo ship full of rubber dog 💩out of Hong Kong (probably also boxes full of my beloved digitals ;) )
Ich verspüre das Bedürfnis nach Geschwindigkeit
Ja stimmt, ich auch!
Out at a tiki bar restaurant tonight and guess what music comes on? TOP GUN!
Maverick you’re at three quarters of a mile, call the ball
Jester broke the hard deck!!
Lame quote, my faves were mostly used up.
Also, I don’t own a flieger or a Porsche design (didn’t mav wear a PD?)
So here’s my great uncle, an actual ace fighter pilot from WWI
Who was he if I may ask?
I've spent a decent amount of time studying WWI aeronautical history.
"Hit the brakes and he'll fly right by!"
I loved reading this thread, made my night after a long day at work!!!
