New Collector?
My 10 year old wanted to better keep track of time as she’s notoriously slow getting ready to leave the house and wanted to be ready when we picked her up from camp. She asked for a watch so I gave her my F-91w and sent her on her way. Couldn’t be prouder 🤣. Share your watch moments with your kids.

I don't own my watches, I simply take care of them for the next generation 🤣
If you really think about it, men are simply sperm donors, ATMs, and pack mules. Everything we do is generally for someone else. Watch collecting is one of the things that is just for me...for now.

But I'd get her a slim strap. Nice fluorine rubber is gonna take the abuse and dries really fast too. And safer as it's easier to remove in emergency. Full wrap around straps can be dangerous.

I have already gifted several watches to my daughter, including an Invicta Grand Diver 3049 🤣 She loves it, and calls it her "bling" watch (because it's gold two-tone with a blue and gold dial.)
But she recently asked for this watch for her birthday: 😮😮😮

It’s what I had on short notice. Luckily she went to art camp so there’s a low chance of injury. 🤪
Try the Blok watch. They make the hour markers into hour bands, so that kids can see that the whole portion of 1 is related to that hour instead the hand pounding between two hour markers. They also have a bezel to show the paint off time because kids are not as great as being aware of time passing.
Screw down crown with 300m wr. 2mm thick sapphire crystal for durability. Perfect kids watch. Can't wait for my kids to grow up.

The initial watches I purchased for my daughter were all quartz fashion watches...she was far too careless with them (taking them into the shower🙄) or losing them.
Everntually she upgraded to a Baume & Mercier.
Then came a Frederique Constant...
Then she added some vintage watches (she nicked my Favre-Leuba triple calendar)...
And the one she really wants from my collection (and she will have some day)...
But this is her Grail...
I’m more than ok with that. At some point in time it’ll be all hers and her little sister’s anyways.

Off to a rough start, she was fiddling with it and pressed all the button and turned on the alarm function accidentally. Woke her up just now and she was not happy about it. We’ll see if she wants the watch tomorrow 🤣
