Grand Seiko - Rodeo Drive Boutique

Hi guys, just wanted to share a cool experience with you all...

Since I have only like 12 followers, I guess you don´t know I love Grand Seiko, I live in Venezuela and there is no GS (nor Seiko) AD or boutiques in here so, everytime I travel, I try to visit a Boutique and see what`s new...

In this case, I entered the boutique wanting to see the tentagraph in person (and some of the other 2.000 new relases of 2023)

The manager (Mr Friedman) was great! he showed me all I asked, and also some pieces I did not care (that much) about, that by the end of my visit, ended of very interested in.

He also showed me a SUPER COOL Credor Eichi II... I could not believe my eyes, that whatch is a whole different thing!

I was impressed of how passionate Mr Friedman was, I could only compare him with Joe Kirk, who I met about 6 years ago when he worked at the Miami Boutique. That was when I saw a Grand Seiko in person for the first time, and Mr Kirk was the person who "sold" me the brand for the first time (did not get a GS untill 2 years later).

I am also a big fan of brands like Tudor, Rolex and Omega, and it is very hard not to compare the experience of entering to any of these vs entering to a GS Boutique. I guess that GS collectors tend to be "nerdier" and the staff needs to be much more prepared in order to be able to handle people like me, who visits ADs and boutique just for fun (with no intention to buy most of the time)

In any case, just wanted to share that now I like GS even more, just like every time I have had to visit Joel at the Miami Boutique... This does not happen to me with my other favorite brands so, I most say that the Sales Team at GS is doing a great job.

Cheers!

Notes:

1- I did not take any pics from the Credor, the hairy wrist wearing the gorgeus SLGH011 is mine

2- excuse my english! I am not native

Joel of the Miami Boutique is THE BEST!!!

That Credor is awesome. This winter, I will finally add a High-Beat to the collection because it is a glaring hole in the collection and they are just killing it. Now I just have to decide if something can get me to move beyond the 271.

·

Glad you had a good experience.

Credor is amazing. I just need to get myself to pay that level of money for credor. It's like a mental block I have.

Joe kirk is a joy to listen to, he is really passionate about Grand Seiko, it really is worth something to me when the staff have actual interest in the product,

I work for a Japanese company and the entire first 6 months is spent learning about the history and products even though I was more than adequately trained to do the job straight away coming from a competitor in the sector i work in.

this can be said for most japanese brand i deal with, and also the Grand seiko boutiques I have visited.

the swiss boutique I visited recently had a sales woman who's whole conversation was how shiny it is and how attractive it looks on my wrist, knew nothing about the product 🙃

Great story and good to have this AD experience! And Credor is the masterbrain supervillain of watches; in the end, they always win…

Rodeo drive anything - Sounds so posh I’d get thrown out 😂

But that’s the Rolex dealer not the GS dealer. I’m in LA in November so will try to stop by 🙂!!

Beautiful watch but $54,000 USD. Ouch 😮

My AD made me try the SBGY009. It has a deep blue dial like in your picture at a much lower price.

I have a big crush on the SBGW259G, but at the end I have never pulled the trigger on a dress "dress" watch...
