Always had an interest in watches and clocks but never any means to really collect. Recently truly began my collecting journey, and as such am also beginning my education into the subjects of horology and watches.
Always had a fascination with the intricacies of clocks and particularly with the amazingly tiny inner workings of watches. A few years after my father passed, my mother needed a battery in her old watch that was kind of a match to one of two that were dad's I had put up. Took them both for a cleaning and on dad's a bit more refurbing, next thing I know I'm researching and following subreditts and really enjoying watches and people's collections. Mom pulled a couple more out of her old jewelry box, including her father's 1938 Hamilton Reagan, and my collection truly began.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Ever? Oh jeez, decades ago.. it would have been a Casio digital in the early 1980's. Couldn't say what particular model. I was in junior high school. (that's what we called middle school, back in the olden days)
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
