Need some help
It's weird to say I guess but I came into some birthday money at my age (44) but I want to spend it on something irresponsible before an adult responsibility comes up. So I have narrowed it down to these two and I am liking them both for different reasons.
Citizen BM8560-88E it's titanium and has safire glass. It's has a better chance of being on my wrist in 5 years. It's kind of the safe choice with a step up in materials vs the rest of my collection.
Citizen AW1710-04E it's unusual and is just at the biggest lug to lug I am comfortable with at 51mm. Its apparently called the seaplane from my Google search and that is kinda cool. It does have a few negatives but nothing I couldn't ignore really and the over all design more than makes up for it
Just looking for something to knock me over the edge one way or the other.

I’d go with the first one. The 60 at the top and the date window cutting into the 3 I don’t like it.
I would choose the first one too. The dial on the other is a mess in my opinion.
First one should last longer in your collection.

If you are looking for something more unique. Interesting numbers and crown position.
The other if you want a classic style vibe.

Garrison for me. Much better over all. Great GADA watch.
I wouldn't buy an eco-drive watch. I'd go with a straight quartz, if you're that way inclined, or an automatic. The added complexity of the rechargeable tech is just one extra thing to crap out and, while upon saying this to you here, a million people will now jump on the thread and tell you that their solar watches haven't missed a beat, I've had three go bad on me, despite daily sunlight. I don't trust it as far as I can throw it.
Great brand, great watches either will do….

The Garrison gets my vote too. More balnced, more versatile, more my taste
Titanium & sapphire are big pluses for me, so I can see why the choice is difficult.
However, based on the look of each, it's the Garrison for me.
My vote for the BM8560-88E, quite balance, good specs and could be wore for all occasions.

I'd go with the first one. The other one looks like the sort of style that will date. The first one is more versatile.
I really like the Seaplane, too bad about the date window tho.
