Unfortunately, the Bay Area really isnโt great for watch shopping. San Francisco itself doesnโt have that many multi brand ADโs. You have the typical assortment of brand boutiques (e.g., Omega, Cartier, Swatch). Theyโre all fine. Nothing really special. You do have a Leica Store, which I believe has the rather unique Leica watches, if you want a unique brand.
The San Francisco Centre mall on Market has a Torneau . The folk there are nice, but itโs small. They also run the adjacent Rolex and IWC/Panerai boutiques, which are also small but the folk are a bit snobbier in my limited experience. You have a couple Shreve & Coโs as well.
You have to go out of the city for the good places. Down in Burlingame (about a 1/2 hour to hour from SF, depending on traffic, but you could easily take the Caltrain), you have Topper, which is probably the best multi brand AD in the area. They have a great range, and are big enough to get brands to do special editions just for them (Fears just released a great looking Brunswick 38 with Topper, for example).
The Valley Fair mall in Santa Clara (an hour to hour and a half drive from SF) has a big range of brands, too.
Going out to the East Bay, Walnut Creek (45 minutes on the BART) has Davidson & Licht, which is pretty decent (Rolex, Cartier, Panerai, Tudor, and others) and with pleasant . Spitz is nice, but theyโre tiny. Heller in San Ramon (you need to drive, itโs 15-20 minutes south of Walnut Creek) is nice (Grand Seiko, TAG Heuer, Rolex, Tudor, Cartier), and is in the liveliest places in the East Bay, City Center Bishop Ranch.
But overall, Iโve been pretty unimpressed with whatโs here in the Bay.
I often get comments on a few of my watches.
Whenever I wear my Seamaster Pro GMT in a watch store, the staff take an interest in it, since Omega doesnโt currently make one .
My Monaco gets a lot of looks too, since itโs so unusual:
And my Mรผhle Glasshรผtte Canova Turquoise is pretty eye-catching - the metallic turquoise dial really shines in light - so I often get โhey, thatโs a cool watchโ comments on it.
I think it says a lot about a watch when a professional watch reviewer - someone who has access to just about everything - goes and buys one with his own money.
This. Iโm a Man City hater, but when all they do is win in the toughest league in the world - and all Haaland does is score goes - itโs hard to see how theyโre overrated. Yeah, they have all the money in the world, but they also spend it well (as opposed to, say Chelsea or PSG).

So @UnholiestJedi - take a break from checking the site for a month or so ๐
