Disappointed by Watches & Wonders? Be Patient

So Watches & Wonders seems to have been a disappointment overall. But I think we really ought to be patient, since we’ll certainly see more releases down the line this year. Really, only Rolex releases once a year - just about everyone else releases watches multiple times a year.

Take Tudor, for example. From the first Watches & Wonders in 2021 (there was no event in 2020, and it was a different event in 2019 and before), these are Tudor’s releases:

2021

Watches & Wonders: 1926 (new line), Black Bay Chrono (panda + reverse panda dials), Black Bay 58 925 (new model), Black Bay 58 18K (new model), Black Bay 31/36/39/41 (new line)

Outside of W&W: Black Bay 58 Bronze (new model), Pelagos FXD (new model), Black Bay Ceramic (new model)

2022

Watches & Wonders: Black Bay Pro (new model), Black Bay Chrono (S&G), Black Bay 31/35/39/41 (S&G), Black Bay GMT (S&G)

Outside of W&W: Ranger (new model), Pelagos 39 (new model)

2023

Watches & Wonders: Black Bay 54 (new model), Black Bay (Burgundy; refresh), Black Bay GMT (opaline dial), Black Bay 31/36/39/41 (refresh), Royal (refresh)

Outside of W&W: Pelagos FXD (black), Pelagos FXD Red Bull Allinghi (new model), Pelagos FXD Chrono Red Bull Allinghi (new model)

2024

Watches & Wonders: Black Bay GMT (new model), Black Bay (monochrome), Gold bracelet for Black Bay 58 18K, Claire du Rose

Outside of W&W (to date): Black Bay Chrono Pink (pink dial)

So while the big show may have disappointed, we’ll certainly have plenty to look forward to from Tudor, Grand Seiko, and many other watch makers. And that doesn’t even include Swatch Group, which didn’t even participate in W&W, and the dozens of micro brands we love on this site.

GS never stops with new releases 😆

I’m not sure what people are expecting - a complete change in watchmaking procedures and a new Tudor in the post?

I’m wondering what makes this year different? Last year no one on here seemed to bat an eyelid about W&W, and this year everyone has an opinion and have written off Bremont, declared that Tudor are the best release, and are trying to live tweet even if they’ve not attended.
