What are you wearing when outside is freezing?

What is your strap of choice in the winter months (where applicable)? Nato, bracelet, leather? Any tips and tricks?

I personally tend to skip the bracelets, usually a softer nato or leather is what I take and go.

I mostly switch over to natos and leather this time of year, but I have some watches that just work way better on a bracelet so they stay.

I agree, winter is not a problem. I can wear whatever during this time of year, but I mostly trend towards bracelets and leather. Summer is when sailcloth straps and nylon NATO straps see the light of day. (Should add tropical straps now that I think of it.)

Winter is the easy time.

I tend to avoid bracelets in the winter and switch to leather or NATO. As it warms up I'll switch some watches back to the bracelet and some from leather to rubber or a NATO.

Late fall and winter are strap seasons for me. I generally prefer straps over bracelets but the hot weather (and subsequent sweat) can do a number on them.

·

For me it's leather or rubber for the winter.  Natos are for summer.

When it gets really cold, which rarely happens where I live to be fair, my watch is always on a bracelet or two piece strap so the caseback touches my wrist.  Only reason is to keep the internal temperature near constant for the sake of accuracy.  The difference can be shocking!

Totally agree! Summer is the real issue.

I’m usually wearing NATOs or leather as well. Where I live, Winter is the only month I can comfortably wear a leather strap without it getting super sweaty when I venture out.

Summer, I’m all about Perlon and the occasional rubber strap, depending on the watch.

I'd love abit of winter atm it's 30 c in the shade down under but we have a tropical storm heading our way so should get a nice breeze and must need rain.

well, it's -5c here, so I would exchange some hot air for the freezing breeze around me :D

I still haven't found a good perlon - they always have some super weird ending, that makes the nato super thick on the bottom, very uncomfortable for desk diving. Any suggestions?

haven't measured this yet. Now that you mention it - I will check how the daily beaters go after the cold week here.

agree, no leather in the summer was lesson, I had to learn the hard way. Very smelly lesson.

I honestly love metal bracelets year round. Here I’m Seattle it doesn’t ever get below freezing and I’ve always found body heat to warm the bracelets up relatively fast!

·

Bracelets. Always bracelets

I get most of my Perlons from Wrist Candy Watch Club and Cheapest Nato Straps, however, you've had less issues with Natos in the past, as far as comfort, places like Clockwork Synergy make some nice Nato-style Perlon straps that are solid quality and worth trying. :)

The red nato looks great!  Now I have to consider ordering one.  As for cold-weather wear, I haven't really considered it.  I wax and wane between the bracelet and leather...changing every month or so.  Then two or three times a year I get on a nato kick.  But now you have me thinking of which is more comfy in the cold or hot extremes!!
