Dive watch for around 1000?

Hey guys, this is my second year catching the sickness we all have, the ability to not stop buying watches lol. I have a beater, a daily wear and a dress watch, but not a diver. I want to use it while snorkeling so it needs to be atleast 20 bar (Just for recreactional purposes). Otherwise i dont have anyother criteria, I am open for suggestions!!

I really like mine it’s a nice comfy watch and a lot better than the price suggests. Mine has 300 metres depth however I’ve not gone diving in it yet but it has 5 years warranty if there’s any issues

If you’re looking for something different and stylish then look close to home with Tuseno https://tuseno.com

If you’re really going to be roughing the thing then save some money and go for something cheaper and v robust. I suggest looking at the Citizen Promaster Fugus - heaps of colour ways to choose from and no need to baby it in the wild!

I have both of these watches and recommend them highly.

Also not expensive, and a good crossover field watch is the Glycine Combat Sub automatic - again heaps of colour ways to choose from and can frequently be had for between $300 and $400.

Have fun enjoy the search!

Thanks for the suggestions, I like the citizen you have and the Tuseno

A lot of great options in that price range. Not tried them myself but people say great things about the Certina divers. From my experience I don’t think you can go wrong with any Christopher Ward. I’ve got a C60 Sapphire and love it.

For something a little different the Mido Ocean Star Decompression World timer is a great option, although a little over a $1000.

Plenty of microbrands sell great dive watches at a reasonable price. An obvious one is the Zelos Blacktip Ti and it comes in under budget. I went with the orange dial and am very happy. A great titanium diver at a very reasonable price what’s not to love.

Image

I’d also take a look at Baltic, Seiko and Citizen, as sure bets. If anything takes your fancy you can always come back and get people’s views. Watch Crunch got me into divers and now I have nine so be careful 😉.

Your options are endless. Have you looked at Seiko SPB143 or SPB317?

All solid suggestions above. Can’t really go wrong with a Doxa, Mido, Citizen or CW…to make things even more difficult I’ll add two more favourite dive watches of mine < 1k:

The Squale 1521:

And my own 1545:

Happy hunting!

From all the other suggestions which are all great, I'd like to add three other different models for the 1000 dollar range. The Titoni seascoper, the Zodiac seawolf and longines heritage diver.

I’m a big fan of what MIDO has to offer at the ~$1,000 mark. The Oceanstar range has retro and modern options. I love my 200c, I feel like it punches well above its weight in the finishing department.

That is such a competetive field with so many good choices! You have to share some more of your preferences! And you have to share, what you already own! If you do that, we can (and want to, and will) make more suggestions that might inspire you... 😉😊

Certina makes great divers at $1000 or less.

I have the 43mm version and I love it. I think this one is perfect proportions, very accurate and the lume is decent.

That Longines is a nice one.

Certina DS action is specifically known for its dive watch and it has a rich heritage!

The other watch would be the marathon MSAR.. it has rich military history!

·

Christopher Ward would be my suggestion

·

I love my king turtle... It's for the bigger wrists though

I got C65 aquitaine bronze a year ago and it’s amazing. Better than I expected.

I really like the grey colour of the titanium and the bright turquoise indices.

I'm just concerned whether it will get scratched worse than steel. Does anyone know if titanium is easy to refinish?

·

I'm also looking at a diver around the same price!

I have a small wrist, so 40mm or less and a short lug to lug are important to me.

I think they offer this size diver in stainless and I’m guessing the titanium they’re using is not grade 5 so I’m sure it will scratch easily but that’s just what I’ve heard,I don’t have any experience with titanium cased watches
