Christmas Watch #1
Finally getting around to making a post. Better late than never, right? Of course, I'll start off by saying I have an awesome wife who knew another watch was on my Christmas list. I had been thinking about adding my first analog chronograph to the collection. I wasn't always interested in chronographs, but over the past couple of years (and especially after joining WC), I found myself longing for one. I've always liked the Bulova surfboard, but the price kept me from looking any further into them. There were a few other watches I was considering, and after some back and forth with Eric @StNobody , I was leaning heavily towards the Detroit Mint Speedy, a homage to the famous Seiko Speedtimer. Then my wife alerted me to a Bulova Surfboard that came up on ebay, "used, but in excellent condition". I couldn't pass it up for the price, so here we are! Once it was delivered, I looked over it, and it truly was mint. If it was ever worn, it wasn't for very long. It's only my second day wearing it, but it's quite the looker. The crystal, the hands, the vertical striations on the dial... 🤌
Now, will someone please tell me the correct pronunciation of Bulova? Are you Team Ron, or Team Hermione?

I'm old enough to remember Bulova TV commercials. The emphasis is on the "Bull", the"o" is quick. If their own commercials were correct, TGV pronounces it incorrectly.
I have one of those quartz Surfboards too. I really like it.
