Depends what you're wearing with it. If you're going for a full-on geek look it'd work fine. But if you're wearing just about anything else - even just jeans and a polo shirt - it would look all kinds of weird.
I have a movado dress watch that I bought back when I thought it was the peak of luxury. I was a naive kid. I kind of want to get rid of it, but the resale value is really minimal.
If you like it, wear it. It's going to be tough, sartorially speaking, but I'm sure it's doable.
