I bought this from a friend for $100. New bracelet included.

Still on its way to me! But this was a beautiful pick up from a microbrand that I feel has offered incredible value with this piece, the MR01. About $700 including shipping.

·

Last watch treat (this month for $270) is this terrific LE Han Solo goodie from Fossil! I’m a big SW fan and simply couldn’t resist. Love it ❤️❤️🤙

Bought this Speedmaster Professional 2 days ago for $7k. Really like the timeless design, how it goes with any apparel, how thin the case is (for a chronograph), and how comfortable the bracelet wears on wrist.

·

Picked this up on Wednesday as a gift for the Mrs, but we share watches so it's a thinly disguised gift to myself too. It's not available online so I visited the store, which allowed me to see and play with many of their designs. I think another will be added before the year is out.

Formex Essence 39MM.

I wanted a smaller watch for everyday wear

I liked that it was a Cosc certified movement

Display caseback is a nice touch

I have had the watch for a month

·

My latest is the SKXMOD Casio AE1200.

Image

It's not a daily wear because I can't do 80's and quartz every day but the idea of turning a 20$ plastic block into the epitome of the 80's had an irresistible appeal to me.

Yes, I know that there is not much logic in sinking hundreds of $ in a plastic watch, but I looked at it from an another perspective: Would I pay 200$ for a watch that I absolutely like that has a steel case, a sapphire crystal and a quality leather strap? And for me the answer was a definite yes.

·

Got this in early February. Been really impressed. The 38.5mm diameter wears perfectly, the bracelet is super comfortable and I've found the pink to be more versatile than I thought it would be.

Image

What drew me to it? The color, of course. I wanted something that stood out and it certainly has. I get more complements on this watch than just about any other watch in my collection, usually from women.

Seiko speedtimer

I wanted a more GADA type watch and this seemed to fit the bill. Also I work in the solar industry so that’s cool too.

24 hours? There's gotta be a story there.

No story, the Amazon driver dropped it at the door, I opened the package and set it up. Epic!

I think most that follow WRUW know my latest addition to the collection. Bought May 11th- about 2 weeks ago. Haven’t worn my other watch since. Perhaps I’ll give it break this weekend. Oh never mind- it’s The Indy 500 & F1 Monaco Grand Prix this weekend. I need to rock my motorsport inspired watch for race weekend!

P.S. Sorry for all the pictures. I just think it looks so good!

I also bought the PRX. A wee bit too big but I'll live with it...

Hahaha. Ya I wouldn’t have struggled with putting it on everyday for #1wc but I didn’t wanna keep up with the changing rules. I can’t stand it when I get used to a pattern and it gets all changed up on me without notice. Anyway, about the gold….full disclosure, as I stated in my NWA post the watch wasn’t brand spanking new. That honestly helped me get over the initial fear of scratching up tue case or buckle. I’m already a pretty careful guy as it is but I don’t have to worry about putting the first scratch on her. It’s already been done. She photographs much better than her true condition. There are minor hairline scratches all over so I don’t worry about it constantly like I would a brand new solid gold watch. OysterFlex is also a benefit here- The rubber/elastomer exterior of the OysterFlex bracelet allows me to rest my arm in situations I never would with my full metal bracelet watches. So maybe I’m finding a benefit to wearing a gold watch when combined with Rolex’s OysterFlex bracelet.

I’ll probably send it in for a service when it’s around 5 years old and I might have them do a light polish at that point to freshen it up for me. I’m using this Daytona as an exercise to get me to accept scratches on my other watches. And it’s slowing doing its thing. As you said, this watch is never leaving the collection so condition only matters to me at the end of the day. But, I would like to make the “memories/marks“ all my own. Cheers bro!

Good Evening!

Missed this response - but glad I’ve seen now. You’ve had same revelation as me: slightly pre scratched and plan to keep forever = carefree wearing experience ☺

Still I’m interested in your ownership experience- maybe worth a post of its own

I seriously doubt I’ll ever own gold, mostly owing to (perhaps incorrect) preconceptions: too heavy, too scratchable, too … ostentatious? All of this is based on zero first hand experience. I’m maybe wrong on all counts, or right but it matters not if you love a design! Either way I’m always happy when a friend ‘achieves’ a grail watch

I think you might be right. Perhaps I should compose a post about my experiences and revelations in owning this watch. I do believe you’re correct in your preconceptions about Gold- however, because this watch comes on OysterFlex it’s not too heavy because it doesn’t have a full gold bracelet weighing it down. It’s, also ideal for the summertime as it’s more comfortable than a full metal bracelet when it’s hot and humid outside. If you take a look at the underside of the Oysterflex, Rolex added a wing-like rubber component. These curved cushions raise the rubber away from the skin slightly to allow for much-needed airflow. They also serve to stabilize the watch and help keep it centered on the wrist.

There are many other benefits that I’ve found with OysterFlex and I think I’ll make a post in the near future about them all. Cheers buddy! 🤙🏼✌🏼🥂

This was my last purchase. Had about 2 months now and still enjoying it. I wanted a white faced sports watch and but could still wear with a shirt. Been interested in Grand Seiko for a while and liked the idea of a spring drive, but didn't want a titanium watch. Tried on pretty much the whole collection, and this was the one for me. Paid £3700 for this, and think it is worth every penny the quality and finishing are beyond many other watches that I have that cost a lot more.

Love it thanks for showing!

Tudor Black Bay 41 (released at this year’s W and W). Purchased this past Friday. I didn’t have a diver and this Black Bay looked the nicest on my wrist, especially with the jubilee bracelet. MSRP

Well now I’m just Jelly

My Alexander Sorokhoff Neva. Love the clean white dial, the rose gold tone movement and the separate second hand. It’s a “summer watch“ for me I wear often. Received it about three months ago, I think I paid about $1600 US directly from their website.

I snagged this Hamilton Khaki Aviation on eBay 3 weeks ago for £400. I enjoy both ‘retro’ and ‘military’ styles of watch, and the champagne dial on this is stunning but the main draw for me was the price, I love to snag a bargain and it makes me even happier knowing the watch I’m wearing was gotten for a good price.

Wow. Nice!

Bit of a cheat here: my newest watch is my first-ever mod, built yesterday! I've wanted to try for a while now (and I actually did try last week, but made a dog's breakfast of it and had to start over 🙃). I'm calling it "Sir Francis Drake" — bonus points for cracking the pun 😉

Image

I'm already planning my next build, this could be a problem 😅

I love that. Where'd you source that dial? What movement?... so many questions lol.

I bought the NH38 from SeikoMods UK (I think they trade as Crystaltime in other countries?), and the dial from AJuiceT 😊 The Milgauss seconds hand is from DLW, and everything else is Namoki
