For me, the BB54, which I own, or the Rolex Explorer 36.

·

41mm Rolex Sumariner date ceramic black.

·

Rolex GMT II

·

the "next watch"

There's no such thing as one and one haha

·

My Rolex datejust 41 however I think that’s because I work in an office, I think the Explorer II makes a fine 1 and done though

Difficult to answer as a watch junky.

But if we are talking about one single ever watch, it should offer as much as possible for as many occations as possible.

To be honest, in that case I would even prefer a quartz/solar powered watch because if reliability, resistability and accuracy.

Without naming any specific model. But I would propably go for a Grand Seiko Quartz or Springdrive or a "The Citizen" (the premium line of Citizen).

In case of mechanical, I guess I would go for something that contains a ETA/Valjoux 7751 (see also my article about https://www.watchcrunch.com/Uhrologe/posts/clash-of-the-leather-pants-36170 ) or at least 7750 due to their complications and reliability, but looking for a model with at least 5ATM preferable 10ATM.

Actually the Casio AE-1200 is a one and done badass watch, if it just could be more pretty.

would go with sinn 556, boring watch but beautiful

·

My Seamaster 300, my much adored Grail, which I've had for 3-4 years.

Im more of a strap collector now 😂 - it's saved me a fortune!!

This is my pick, my 1988 Longines

For numerous reasons, this would be be my one and done (although insane to have one watch). But I didnt discover that until later in my watch journey.

I could possibly do a 2 watch collection but just 1 would be difficult. If I was forced to only have 1 it would probably be the GWM5610. I am an auto technician so I need a durable watch. I do wear my nicer watches to work but they stay in my toolbox while I am working.

·

If I was going to one and done, it would be the Tudor Pelagos 39. Titanium makes it a light weight, easy wear. The size is not too big or small. It's nice enough for going out but rugged enough to cross an alpine river on an epic hike.

·

That's tough - tbh it'd probably be something pure and simple, along the lines of an Oyster Perpetual, Aqua Terra, or a Grand Seiko.

·

If it was possible, so far my one and done would be Aqua Terra small seconds just as you see it here. But, who know what next month brings...

My Rolex SD 43 seems to be the ONE & DONE for me. Other pieces are being sold off slowly...

Yes...it seems like the 7751. Honestly never heared of Towson Watches...thanks for the hint.

I would propably for for the Union Glashütte one...

Another alternative with a hell lot of functions is the Seiko Astron SSH047

Image

More affordable but much more esthetic offers are from Frederique Constant

The CLASSIC QUARTZ CHRONOGRAPH TRIPLE CALENDAR

Image

Or the BUSINESS TIMER

Image

Or from Junghans the 1972 Chronoscope Solar

Image

In the entree level is again Zeppelin 7036M3

Image

and 96365 ....little less function, but the overall esthetic and the applied indizes looking so sharp.

The Seiko is that the NE88? Sorry I don't know the in house designation. The 430 date throws me off a bit. On the Seiko slide, I really like the clean aesthetic of the NE86. 2 sub dials with the 6 o'clock date🤤.

Image

As for Towson Watch Company I learned about them earlier this year as I was beginning my watch journey. I hear about all the European and Asian brands, I wanted to know what is available here in the States. Little did I know fine watch making was happening 40 some odd minutes from my house 🤣

·

Omega AT blue dial.

·

In the state my collection is in it would have to be my Tudor Pelagos 39. I’m trying to find ways not to wear it because when I got it I wore it almost 2 months straight without taking it off 😂. But I know I’m not a one watch guy so…
