Christopher Ward price increases, April 3rd.

FYI, I just received an email about Christopher Ward's upcoming price increases, so if you were considering getting one, I'd do it sooner rather than later.

Another increase making its way across the industry. Oh well. Everybody else was doing it, so it was a matter of time. I certainly appreciate you for the update though.

Good on the company for giving advanced notice

·

My planned CW purchase is next Christmas.

I don't think the MRS will wear me bringing that forward to save a few quid.....oh well!

·

Yet, they will likely still have sales throughout the year pissing everyone off who paid full price. I like CW a lot, but they need to sort their pricing strategy. I hope this is the first step in sorting it out.

·

Sad, but inevitable. They have to survive. Good on them for the advanced warning.

·

Would anyone know how much percentage increase are we suspecting?

What's the average price increase been across the industry among brands within this price bracket

·

Meh, they arent there yet imo. The Bel Canto has probably skewed things a bit but they are very much microbrand territory with no real cohesion in design or branding yet!

Have you looked at CW watches in the last four years? All of their current models have the "lightcatcher" case, and use a common style of handset. They are more cohesive than pretty much any other brand.

I would estimate 7-11% on average.

I love their watches. But call me nit picky, I can't do their trident seconds hand. I wish they would do away with it. I know some of their models don't have it, but I don't like those designs. Sigh. I really do believe they offer great value and quality.

Ha, the trident on the seconds is my favourite feature 😀

Yeah, good point but I think its the logo thing (3 or 4 over the years?).

They just dont wow me, Im sure they are fine watches.

They had a price increase last year and just discontinued their vouchers. I think the Bel Canto might be going to their head a little. With all these increases, not sure they'll be know as a great value brand for too much longer.

·

Thank you so much for sharing was debating if I should get one now

I have a bel canto on order. Sort of curious what it might fetch when it comes in May. If it would sell for $5 or more I may consider selling to fund something else. Anyone here interested?
