I had my kid drop my Seamaster SMP off my bed... watch was fine, movement was fine.

Though I have not had any experience with Longines and their quality.

Perhaps its not the Silicone hairspring but the watch in question not having any shock resistance? What model was it if I may ask? Curious.

"Cost per wear" is what my wife tells me to justify buying her luxury handbags... but the problem is she has something like 8-10 of them so I think I'm having the wool pulled over my eyes!😂

Oh well, Happy wife, stay alive ... and all that Jazz..😎

No date for me... but that's down to my current lust for purist tool watches (is being a purist racist lol)

But it is a forum. It is fun to discuss these topics. I have been on a minimalist / purist tool watch kick lately and want no dates on all my watches. To a point where I want to sell my white Seamaster 300m P for the NTTD titanium version. But for all I know, I'll prob get a PO summer blue with the date at 3!

People put different value in different things or experiences. People have different reasons for it.

To Jennie's point, there are plenty out there that feel that finally getting a call, playing the game, to mark a special occasion, or life milestone, that first big promotion, or to complete a particular collection, has tangible value to it.

One man's trash (tangible /material or airy fairy fluff) is another man's treasure.

commented on Thoughts On Patina ·

I find the NTTD watch confusing in that the aluminium bezel is marketed as being able to fade and patina over time, but the lume is alredy fauxtina. Like why not make it so that it also "can" patina over time? Or I suppose one could argue that its not patina but a muted colour to not draw attention to itself as it is an occupational hazard for a spy...

That being said, I still want one anyway... fauxtina or not. Just can't justify the price point and the 007 logos on the case back and clasp.

Always drew the line at 42mm, but then currently rocking a 36mm field watch as a daily for the next wee while.

The oxymoron here is that I have been lusting over the Ultra deep... which blows all sane proportions out the window, esp on the 6.5 wrist size. lol
