Your Top Non-Bond Movie Watches?

Yes, approximately 83% of all males born between 1955 and 1980 dreams of cosplaying as a dynamic lone wolf master spy that women love to try and fix.

Ok, I made that number up. But other than the James Bond movies, what are some perhaps off the beaten path (Matt Damon's Bourne TAG) or even icon pieces (like McQueen's Monaco) from film over the years where a movie made you get the watch, or made you really want it?

Can't stop thinking about the Tag Heuer Monaco but not on McQueen, on Orlando Bloom in the movie Gran Turismo

The bond watches have never moved me. But in terms of favorite movie watches?

Accept no substitutes!

One of my favourite films too @Edge168n

(Got the black one as well, just happen to be wearing this one )

Seiko Arnie!

Alas, the Bourne Tag doesn’t have any decent lookalikes/homages out there (certainly not affordable) and nor do the Aliens watches (though Seiko did do a limited reissue) nor that very expensive Metal Gear Solid watch from a few years back. I do have something almost identical to Bob Pecks watch from Jurassic Park, but I think it’s Ana-digi movement has gone, ironically, the way of the dinosaurs.

Aside from that, everything is blooming Hamilton, and I’m not into them. (The Prisoner — Hamilton — interstellar — Hamilton — sonic the flipping ‘edge’og — Hamilton… )

I’ve got $2…and a Casio

The arnie hands down. I just don’t have the wrist to pull it off.

Chief Brody's Hamilton CLD "Lyndon" is on my list of watches that I'd like from film.

John Wick's one, absolutely adore this watch

I already had my Rolex Explorer II (ref 1655) when I, THE JURY came out. But Armand Assante as Mike Hammer wearing it and having it kinda featured in the film really cemented my love affair with that watch. But it became collectible when they stopped making it - and I sold it for THIRTY-FIVE TIMES what I'd bought it for. I replaced it with a Steinhart homage - which is in about every appreciable metric a better watch...but with that same uniquely cool look I loved and love to this day.

Casio CA-50, Marty McFly, Back to the Future 😉

What a perfect background for a picture of that watch too

The Predator's wrist "watch". In addition to the other functions I assume it also tells time.

Image

Yeah it tells you it's time to whoop ass and take names

Of course Steve McQueen's Monaco. Steve McQueen was my idol when I was a teen and early adult. When I finally got my hands on a 68 Mustang Fastback as a senior in high school I couldn't wait to change it's color to dark highland green. My mustang wasn't a 390 like Bullit's but my 302 was good enough for me.

I recently was recommended and watched the chase scene in Bullit on YT for the first time. Ice cool guy, but he was certifiably a bit nuts in real life

I’m a huge Bourne fan, even more love for Bourne than Bond!

I’ve been wishing to get the ‘Bourne’ Tag for sooooo long!

35x for a wristwatch is absolutely wild, only a Rolex lol.

Given the choice between a Seiko and the IWC Top gun from Bourne ultimatum.

I wouldn't have thought twice about it.

I have three movie watches. An Arnie, a casio from Mi1 and thr Aliens Ripley watch. You'll have to look at my profile for the pics. I did a photo purge on my phone....

But ask yourself, which watch is most likely to fly under the radar if you're supposed to be a clandestine operative?

Seikos and GShocks, my friend :-)

True, but when all hell breaks lose you could batter your way home with the IWC 😄

RIGHT!?!?!?!?! I bought it in 1978 for $850. Sold a couple of years ago for nearly $30,000! Crazy! I loved the watch and had a lot of great memories. But not THAT many. 🤣 I did love the design though. So when I realized I could get a BETTER watch (than my $30,000 "collectible"), with the same look, for about $500, well.....it was a no-brainer.
