I was today years old when I learned that James Bond wore a Tissot in Live and Let Die

A facebook ad led me down a James Bond rabbit hole.

I know Bond has worn watches other than a Rolex or Omega, but I never new that a Tissot appeared on screen.

Roger Moore wore a Tissot PR-516 in Live and Let Die. I never knew this. The only Roger Moore move I remembered was A View To Kill and that was mainly because it took place in San Francisco.

To me, Bond is Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig.

Bond provenance aside, this is a beautiful watch. That dial and handset *chef’s kiss.*

If Tissot ever did a reissue of is this watch, I think I would instabuy it.

Maybe I should check Chrono 24 for vintage pieces.

Love my PR516. Different to Bond's though.

He also wore a Seiko!

·

How dare you? Roger IS Bond! Okay, so is Sean Connery... and actually Timothy Dalton was very good in his first film.

You have a lot of great Roger Moore era Bond films to catch up on. The Spy Who Loved Me, The Man with the Golden Gun and Moonraker are all fantastic 👌

I knew about the Seiko, and believe a Hamilton Pulsar, but I never knew about a Tissot.

·

Had no idea he wore that watch.

·

And that is why Roger Moore isn’t thought of higher as Bond 🤣😂

Great watch but it’s no Rolex or Omega🤪

·

A Bond collection is a fantastic way to go!

·

Hey, I have a PR 516 too!

Image

It's quite different from Mr Bond's though...

But I will say that I much prefer the 2031 quartz to the automatic counterparts. There's something about that independently adjustable hour hand and satisfying ticking that just gets me, but the quartz models seem to be rather scarce these days.

Beautiful PR 516s, fellow Crunchers.

Me too. The method of fixing the bracelet to the case is very, very, very agricultural though!

·

Very cool! I agree, excellent hand/ indicator pairing

48! 🤯

·

I'm with you, that would be a sweet reissue, and Roger Moore is barely a Bond.

Moore is my favorite Bond. I love Live and Let Die.

Bond, in the books, wore Rolex. End of story,

Bond, in the movies, has additionally worn Gruen, Seiko, Tissot, Breitling, Tag Heuer, and Omega. None of these are true to source.

As did Connery. Bond wears Rolex at source, and the movies have artistic licence and sponsorship deals. Moeris actually made a licensed “007 watch” that was never in any of the films.

Thanks for sharing, that’s a nice tissot

·

Tissot did reissue this! It's called The PRX !

Great photo of Roger Moore (met him briefly in a big toy shop in London he was with his kids about (50 years ago!!!)- I was seduced - My take Tissot 1853, Say hello to mine "Little Patina", now getting on like me! Found in a small watch shop in Asia, begged me for a home back in Europe. She wanted my ❤️ (sorry about late post long day, Patina was so glad to see me!).
