Perfect Two Luxury Watch Collection Under £10k?

My proposition is this:

An IWC Mark XX blue dial on bracelet (currently £5,700.)

A Cartier Tank Large Quartz (currently £3,300.)

That gives £1,000 change for lots of extra straps.

The IWC is a perfect daily watch - legible, great universal size, awesome bracelet with quick adjustment. Massive power reserve so you might never need to wind it.

The Tank is a little something different when you fancy a change from the IWC or something dressier. The quartz movement means it will always show the right time. And it’s another strap monster when you fancy mixing it up.

So can you do better under £10k?

I think I can match this. I’d go with a BB58, preowned, lightly worn for roughly $2,800 USD.

Image

That leaves $7.2K. I’d go for a preowned Reverso. Can get one from $6.3-$7.2k preowned.

Great combo and I’ll allow the pre owned cheat! (Just this once)

A black bay 54 or a Pelagos would be high up my list for every day watch that’s for sure.

I feel like with the price increases across the brands, it make sense to cheat and go preowned.

Nice watches but two chronographs on bracelet?

Yep I only wear sports watches with rubber and preferably steel bracelets.

·

Submariner ND (and a long wait). Doesn't leave me much for the second watch, but I would go for something classy from Longines, Silver Arrow or Black sector dial or 190th anniversary......

Nice hack getting a Rolex at retail

·

Too many options, especially if you buy on a gray market.

JLC Polaris + Longines Master Moonphase

Omega Aquaterra + Rolex datejust

GO Panomaticlunar + Seiko 9F

Omega Globemaster + Tudor BB 58

Bvlgari Octa + CW Bel Canto

C.F.Bucherer manero + Zenith Defy

·

Mate. I genuinely love this. I would go for a second hand older gold tank just for some variability. Probably the tank solo i think it was in 27mm.

Ah well my real life collection has steel modern tank must and gold slightly vintage ones - I just like the greater robustness of the new one..

·

Okay so you have had more experience with tanks than me. What do you mean robustness, I’m looking to get a tank at Christmas

·

If I was to do my collection all over again, I would get a Rolex Explorer (36mm) and a Pelagos FXD and call it good from there. From what I can find for US prices it looks like their MSRP is £3490 and £6100, so £400 under budget

·

Yeah ... I'd be very happy. Both serve everything I could and would do. My dream 2 watch under $10,000 collection.

These would be my picks. Tudor BB58 $4,800 CAD and the Santos 10,800 CAD.

Something about that brushed Francaise. It's been a siren's song luring me to my doom. Nearly pulled the trigger on a cruise back in September. 🧜

·

I know whats best for myself, a solid daily wear in bb58 in blue and a mad1 in red for crazy spinning inspiring moments 🙂 maybe ways under budget but they are my picks.

I see a cheat-code has been activated, but I'll still give it with a flying colors for opting a Reverso! 🥳

To keep competition healthy, I'll stick my choices to brand new ones directly from the watch maisons.

  1. THE LONGINES MASTER COLLECTION L2.673.4.92.6 --> $3,500

Image

I opt this is in bracelet version which looks extremely sharp both on and off - work to casual. It has a ton of complications which immediately up your watch geeky level by a 1000%!!! and that leaves me a proper dress watch of a whopping $6500 in value ! 2. GRAND SEIKO SBGA407 --> $5,800 I don't even need to mention what this is. This is a Grand Seiko com'on 🤩

Image

It still leaves me with a proper $700 that I can utilize it at an upscale restaurant to celebrate my achievements with my significant other. 😉

Image

Peace 😎

·

I’d pick these two from my collection. Same spirit of your suggestion.

Longines Conquest

Image

Hamilton Boulton

Image

Both for less than $2k.

·

🔥 killer combo for sure dunno maybe a

Nodate sub or explorer 36 and a

Vintage dress watch, probably Omega or UG

But honestly it’s nice to have a quartz so you’ve got it…just (I love Cartier) maybe a cheaper quartz…

This is a pretty good 2 watch collection.
