Strap Decisions For My 30th Birthday

Hello Crunchers! I've decided not to pick up a quartz PRX for my birthday since I have way too many watches, and it'd just collect dust on my wall. I'd rather pick up a custom strap courtesy of Artisan Straps, brought to my attention by @Nuclear1711. I've narrowed it down to two choices, but I'm open to all suggestions. I'm going with 20mm for the Neptune, and my Yobokies field watch I can swap it with.

I think straps should contrast the dial, not match it.

This would be the biggest reason why I wouldn't go blue.

A very adult the decision!! I'm so proud of you 😅 #becomingaman

Since your budget is a quartz PRX, just buy a matching strap for your Neptune, and another for your Yobokies field watch. Heck, you may even find bit cheaper strap brands to merit getting more. And, re. Neptune, there are so many watches (even a brand) using that name. Best to be specific. Enjoy the strap hunting!

Oh wow what lovely straps 😇

·

For a custom, go with the blue and gold. It will be a cool strap to have in the lineup.

·

I highly recommend Colareb straps for a "basic bitch" high quality leather strap.

·

The leather industry is pretty nasty. I'd personally choose a different option instead.

The leather industry is older than writing, cities, houses, and agriculture. We should all know how the "sausage is made". However, I can't make jambalaya without a good sausage.

With that out of the way, never work blue. Wait, that is a comic's advice. Blue shirts are flexible. Blue watch straps less so. Don't put blue on a watch that you want to wear frequently. Something nicer than normal should be brown, black, or tan. Blue is for quick release straps that can be changed out.

·

Burgundy will be more versatile. BTW, I accidentally hit blue on the poll. My stubby fingers have invalidated your results 😞

I'm indifferent on main color, but oppose twee contrast stitching colors. One needn't check all the boxes on the custom order form just because they can.

I chose burgundy…its a nice contrast. blue will be a bit too much and no contrast

What do you have in your collection that you wear the most?

That's what I'm thinking. I've always been drawn to aggressive color matching for some reason though.

Right now I have a tan suede, olive nato and the factory bracelet for it.

Ignore my previous comment against contrast stitching then. If it's being done because one wants it and not just because it can be done (custom for custom's sake), it shouldn't become regrettable.

Initially I had wanted the PRX mostly for the sake of a cool, modern quartz watch with some style but it wasn't feeling personal or special enough. I told myself that my Lorier Neptune would be my last watch for a long time, and if I adhere to that then I'll be in much better shape.
