I know we are all watch geeks here, and love to dive deep into the technical of a watch, but as I write this on my phone, I have 4 visual references in eye shot to tell me what time it is. We wear these things as fashion pieces, and to that end, it’s whatever you want it to be. My 7.5 inch wrist, and fat hands makes a small watch look a bit.. well.. small. So I prefer something larger. But like the Dude said… that’s just my opinion, man.
I think the best approach is to put yourself in there shoes. Your standing behind the counter, polishing that glass count for the 20th time today, and you see someone walk past the front window, obviously excited about what they see. You can tell they love watches, and based on how they look, probably think they can’t afford anything. There are two futures here. One is the person just walks on by, and you think, round 21 on that glass… or they walk in, super excited, and you get to show them a bunch of stuff they have always dreamed of owning, and one day feel they might. They take photos, smile, chat with you about all the specs, and the crazy people on watch crunch. Which day would you rather have, if you worked at a watch shop?
So do your local rep a favor, and walk in, and try on some watches!
