Keeping the clap scratch free

Hello all. So I got the call from the Rolex AD, and I am now a proud owner of a new two-tone Sub, like the one below (not my photo). When I buy watches, I wear them. So while this is not an investment piece, I would like to keep it as scratch-free as possible. I am very good at not hitting walls or anything. My daily for the last year is a Grand Seiko Iceman, and the watch looks like it did the day it was new... except for one thing... the clasp. That seems to be something I just can't keep from scratching. Being this thing is gold, it will scratch even more. Does anyone have any experience with any product that can help with this? Like invisible tape, or a liquid you can apply? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

yea, I do that with my Iceman... still after a year, I have scratches. Not sure what from. I suspect when eating out, at the table.

Apply Styx watch stickers to the polished center links. This will prevent the gold from scratching.

Just enjoy your Sub and embrace the scratches! Congrats!

No problem! They work fairly well, from what I've seen.

Can’t tell if you’re joking…just wear the watch or don’t buy it.

Scratches are a part of wearing watches and there's - pardon my French - sod-all you can do about it. In case of watches with fine, sharp finishing, the first few scratches hurt, but at some point one gets used to them. The first time I put a scratch on my Longines Spirit, it felt like a kick in the crown jewels alright. However, even though it's a pill that's hard to swallow, that's just the way it is.

When I got the clap I couldn't NOT scratch!
