I agree that they may very well succeed in their goals, but I won't be along for the ride. And frankly, I don't think they want me to be. They seem to be shifting from an enthusiast brand to a more broad "adventure" brand. Targeting fashion watch owners to transition into the next step up.
It's funny, I always thought their Achilles heel were their prices, they always seemed a bit off. But now that they've slightly lowered their prices, they seem to be offering even less value. I always wondered what would have happened if they had just kept their existing lines and cut 15-20% off the prices. Guess we'll never know.
This is true. I automatically assume everyone I see wearing a Rolex has a fake on. But, that’s in part because of the circles I run in (non rich people) and because I know statistically for every 1 real Rolex sold there are 7 fakes sold. Almost makes me feel bad for real Rolex owners… almost 😅
