Tissot PRX for me. I wear one of my two Christopher Ward watches, or my Seagull 1963 chronograph, at the weekend, safe in the knowledge the PRX will still be running on Monday. It runs approx -5 per day, so I set it t+1 minute every second week (and then forget it).
I suppose this is more a comment on movement and timekeeping. In simple terms, Seiko has a soft middle. Low end stuff is good. Grand Seiko rocks. Everything in between is comprehensively murdered by the Swiss. At least as far as movements and accuracy goes.
The primary purpose of a dress watch is to look, erm, dressy. Unless your choice is going to spending a lot of time in the orbit of those who appreciate watches, and know the brands, the likes of Timex and a legion of (sometimes quite original) of watches from Ali Express will do. Me? Probably outside of your price preference, but I like Cartier :-).
Lovely watch. Both the hacking issue and time keeping are worthy of attention. An unregulated, straight out of the factory SW-200 is +/- 20 (with worse than +/-10 being, I think, rare)? If it’s still under guarantee, get them to fix it. Otherwise, this is a very serviceable movement (for a price).
