#NWA: Another Seiko.. never.. but then…
Just when I thought I wasn’t going to buy another Seiko.. they come up with Alpinist GMT.
In January 2023, I fell in love with Green Alpinist (SPB121) and bought it. Then it stopped keeping time, my AD replaced it with another and it had quality issues. Luckily the AD took it back and since then I have been only liking other crunchers posts and wrist shots of the Alpinist. 😌
Then Seiko announced the GMT version. Before my mind and wallet could realize, my body was at the AD to inquire about the beauty. 😜
In 3 weeks, I am a proud owner of this limited edition Seiko Prospex Land SPB409 aka Alpinist GMT (apparently limited to 3k pieces)😀
I have recently started collecting watches, like 5 years ago. Love them for the art and engineering. And my wife doesn’t know how many watches I have.
I've been looking at the non limited edition of this watch. They are all stunning.

I am very late to the party as far as Seiko is concerned & confess that this was down to the watch snob that existed in me until recently. I really like the look of this watch, as well as the Prospex European Rock Face.
I have managed to resist temptation of buying without trying but I've booked a consultation to view both of them. I hope I'm not opening a Pandora's box in me as I know I'll end up buying one or the other. Once the first domino is toppled, goodness knows where that'll take me.

It’s a nice looking watch and something about limited edition is always tempting even though it’s limited to few thousands. Looking at your collection on your profile, you should be okay without a Seiko but then the question is can you avoid the temptation? Of the GMT releases, white dial is my favorite.

Agreed, I could live without a Seiko but addiction is never about not doing something 😀
I really like the look of these watches & both are unlike anything else I have. The look of the GMT surprises me, I‘m not usually interested in them at all.
Can't wait for my Alpinist to arrive. Next time I'll pay extra for the express post, seriously pissed me off to learn that the courier just picked it from the seller this afternoon.

I know I'll love my Alpinist, just peeved at the seller.
They had this shipping policy that said my order should've been shipped out one day after the payment is confirmed and I know they got the payment because their invoice recorded the damn thing 6 minutes after I clicked buy.
Okay, I can deal with not posting on the weeked because I bought mine on a Friday morning. But they should have done it on Monday or failing that at least inform me if there was any delay. I had to email the store earlier today for confirmation.
