The Vacheron 56 - I got a chance to try one on from the local watch dealer. The bracelet was incredible. I am on the three year waiting list for an overseas which everyone wants. It looks like the 56 is a great watch to buy used at a price well below MSRP.

Unpopular opinion, Breitlings. I was never a fan of the new Superocean, Superocean Heritage, or Avengers. However, when I saw them in person, I was amazed how attractive they actually were. The proportions were actually smaller than I originally thought based on photo
Most Seiko Presages and Grand Seikos. The marketing department for Seiko and Grand Seiko are criminally poor and make their watches on the official sites look quite meh. Especially Grand Seiko.
Love the way this looks in photos more than I did on my wrist.
I totally agree. I think my problem with the watch is the hands. Didn't like the 'skeletonised' look of them. Not keen on the bezel shape either. Why on earth did I buy it? 😂
I’ll be a little contrary here and say that the Baltic Aquascaphe Dual Crown isn’t quite as stunning in real life:
As it looks on the website:
You could say it’s just a combination of my poor photography and their great photography. However, imho the hands and the internal bezel are a bit more rough-around-the-edges in real life than it looks on the photos. I still like it though.
One thing I think is common to most watches is that the lume never appears as clearly as it’s shown on the website when they invite you to flick the button from day to night!
Ah! Got it…yeah, that thing was a stunner in person as well but was just super easy to photograph (AR on both sides of the crystal made the glass just disappear in most shots).

Oh that's interesting. I meant the post as "what did you wish looked better in person" or "what were you pleasantly surprised by". But it's interesting to think about purely the photogenic nature of a watch, even if it's stunning in person! Thanks for sharing!
This is true. Hopefully they take inspiration from the Murph 38 and shorten the lugs. Lol
I have an older version of the khaki (9721b) and the case is perfect, imo. 36mm and wears like 35mm with fantastic finishing and proportional lugs. I’m sure most people would rather have the 38mm but I like my simple 3-handers a bit smaller.

Also, what do you think of the smaller model out now!
While the smaller dimensions may be suitable for smaller wrists n those that just started their watch journey, it's way too small size n greatly reduced specs will not entice the current Duro fans. What the fans wanted is a 38mm Duro with all the same or improved specs, not a 36mm sized Mini Duro with barely similar specs. So, it's suitability will be limited...

Mr jones look much better in person I find.
Cartier. Sure, people say it's "classy" when they look at photos. They are straight stunning in person. It just doesn't translate to photography.

In general or just on you?

I tried on a dual tone santos and fell in love.
I think my Vaer DS4 Meridian Navy looks much better in person than on the Vaer website.
Bulova lunar pilot blue

I think a lot would be with you though!

I've had the silver version of the orient and I agree 100%!

There's always one who doesn't but then new paths are found. 😎👉

Better in photos or in the metal?
Better in the metal. I think this picture I took actually captures it much better than most I’ve seen online!!

Sometimes you gotta get that good angle!
Any Grand Seiko looks better IRL than in photos.
