G-Shock, really?

People like what they like. There’s no explaining it.

It’s not a Casio. It’s a GShock. That would be like calling a Tudor rolex 😂😂😂joke aside. It’s a really solid watch, a watch you can wear everyday and that easily tells time. It’s also a brand recognized for the technological advancement in watches and for being a professional watch for many lines of work (mainly emergency and security) it won’t break easily, you don’t have to worry about setting it. It comes in various colors and collabs it’s built to last and lastly gshock > Rolex.

I don't own a G-Shock, although I do own a chunky Casio that looks like a G-Shock and will handle abuse probably 90% as well as one. I see the appeal, but it's a pass from me. I was very, very close to buying a DW-5600 square last year, but passed on it to spend money on other things. Fast forward a few months and I've realised bigger and more tool-oriented watches aren't my thing.

For me, they are all Casios... Though, I have not bought a G-Shock square since I think the Mission Impossible is quite similar and half the price (probably why I drive a VW Sportwagen 4motion rather than a Audi A4 Avant quatro 🤷‍♂)️

I didn't understand the hype either, till I got one. I genuinely can't imagine a better daily watch.

I love my G-shock possibly more than my other watches. I love the styling, the coolness factor, the fact that I can wear them just about anywhere. I'm never worried about going camping, hiking, mtn biking, house work, cold/wet/dirty. It's not going to break or cost me a bunch in repair. I love the fact that there are tons of colors and styles. I love seeing them on other people.

I also really love that just about anyone can buy one. Rich or broke, homeless or a starving student, you can get a bus on time. You dont need to charge it and the battery is cheap and easy to change.

If you told me with a gun to my head I could only have one watch it would be a G-shock.

G-shock are stress watch. They are designed to survive being brutalized. That's means zero stress when it is abused and damage. With atomic solar it becomes zero maintenance and zero stress.

Not a care in the world. Stress and maintenance free.

It's a decent watch, but nothing special.

For me personally these are affordable watches that can take a beating. I m interrested in the different features, construction and yes, heritage. Like em a lot, but i m not nailed on GShocks as my latest purchases prove

Unless you go crazy on the high high end, they are affordable enough to have fun with. I own several and I got all of them because they are just fun to have.

They look like something the Borg would wear. So the obvious answer is that the owners have been assimilated and must buy all the G-Shock variants to attain perfection.

Used them as a tool in my younger more active days, zero interest in them now. Only marginally better than the dreaded smart watches imho.

A great utility, but for me as exciting as a washing machine.

Depends on the personality type and your watch philosophy. Iam a very utilitarian guy and form is a close second to function but only by a hair in my watch tast.

A G-shock gives you the freedom of just wearing a nice big watch without the typical "I wish it came in a 37mm" comments 😅😅😅
