Well - my first GS9 event is under the belt - what a hoot!
Could chat watches with virtually everybody - and virtually everybody wanted to chat ๐. And gawk at each others watches ๐
Impressed with variety and quality of talks.
Interesting displays

Seeing some unique watches in person
Met some of our world famous crunchers ๐คฉ IRL @ChronoGuy @Mr.Dee.Bater , my only regret was not having more time to talk with them in that loud/ lively /lovely environment. ย Amazing people one and all.
Also got to walk around the show in Brianโs watch for a few hours ๐ฅฐ.ย Told numerous people it was mine when they fawned over it. ๐คซ
Brian was wearing my watch.ย Helpfully, it acted as a tourniquet should he have accidentally lopped his hand off (my wrist is a bit smaller than his).ย Very kind of him to sacrifice his circulation for my bit of fun.๐
Would attend another GS event in a hot minute, if I find good travel deals to attend.
No new NWA to announce to the world.ย Boo ๐!ย Iโm mulling over the new 37mm manual wind releases, really got to try one on b4 I can commit to one thoโ.ย
Partial to pink, but they call it Hanami, and I already have a watch I call Hanami ๐ซค

Looks like a very good time.. havenโt thought about a #grandseiko but for event like this, might have to think about it.. good shots and novelty GS watches
Looks like an amazing event
It was awesome being there with you, man!!!
This looks amazing and a bummer I donโt live closer or own a GS.. yet.
My only regret about buying my new GS from Japan (Iโm in US) via Chrono24 (in order to save huge money) is that I donโt get to attend GS9. Glad you went and had a good time. Thanks for sharing!
I really wanted to attend, but TBH, Kevin OโLeary being there soured me on it. Strange as it sounds, in my mind he represents the part of this hobby that offends me and is the opposite of what Iโve always respected about Seiko and Grand Seiko. It felt like a shark-jumping moment in my heart.
Looks like a great event to be at. And to meet fellow crunchers on tip of that. There isnโt a better way to enjoy watches.
Looks and sounds a great event and some lovely photos as well.

Using this meme a second time ๐

Heโs quite polarizing for sure! But was a very small part of the event.
Small appearance in the final panel. He and the others were quite hilarious and enjoyable to listen to as it turned out.

Yeah--I kinda regret not going. I probably should have gone and just left before the panel. It looks like you had an amazing time and I probably would have dug it if I could swallow my pride and accept that you can't buy into the luxury game and then get super self-righteous about guys like O'Leary. I'm funny that way ;)
I was invited but I donโt drink or do night life. Looks cool though, Iโm glad you had a good time.
Thanks for the photos! That helps satiate my curiosity. Iโm guessing you brought home a kodo ๐
Jealous! Looks like it was Ana amazing event!

During the panel I learned that it was Teddy Baldassarre that got him into the brand. I thought that was pretty neat.

I expect he primarily boughtโflexโ watches until exposed to a knowledgeable guy like Teddy that could educate him.
GS is a zero flex watch that you buy for yourself more than for others, not Kevinโs usual MO. Sounded like heโs a full convert to the brand now.
Belated thanks for a great post with equally great photos, brother! Really happy you flew down for this baller event โค๏ธ๐ค

Cheers! It felt over the top doing international travel for a free grand seiko event โฆ but in retrospect Iโm so glad I did! ๐ฅฐ
