It might be interesting to know where you're from in the world to see if there are (obvious) regional variations (I already have an hypothesis ;-))
”Pelagos” is a Greek word. If we are to stick to the original pronounciation (which is debateable), it should be pronounced “PElagos” (stressing the first syllable and uttering the name without any pause).

I'm fairly certain that D is the only correct pronunciation. I've seen it noted that it rhymes with the incorrect pronunciation "To-MAH-toes".
