What’s your favorite kind of clasp?

Golly…there sure are a lot of different kinds of bands and bracelets out there! From the most rudimentary angle, you could probably get away with a bit of twine tied to each of your watch’s lugs. But where’s the fashion in that?

Image

My favorite is the adjustable clasp type. Infinitely tweak-able, and oh-so huggable to the wrist…this choice heightens the watch-wearing enjoyment to hand-breaded, pan gravy chicken-fried steak and eggs level! I just don’t understand why this mechanism isn’t found on the fancier more hifalutin watches? Maybe then I’d get one of them instead of the usual Casio.

What’s your preferred type of bracelet/clasp? What quantifiable percentage of satisfaction does it add to your watch?

Agree, the one you've pictured. Can get a spot on fit.👍👍

This might be considered blasphemous but the Milanese strap on an Apple Watch has the advantage of infinite adjustability and is secured with a strong magnet. No clasp needed.

I like a good diver extension on bracelets.

But agreed the Casio/Timex/Speidel/Forstner take on infinitely adjustable is very 👌🏻.

On that note, Forstner makes very good quality, albeit pricey variants in their Komfit and Klip styles. Food for thought.

That sounds fantastic! That would also make for a great fidget device.

I didn’t know that. I’ll look into it. Gracias!

Ah, magnets don't go too well with mechanical watches tho. Unless it's an Omega !

·

One that works.

I'm

wearing one of those now -- its on my NWA toaster with an oyster style bracelet (is that what its called??) and I like it, especially this time of year when its warm. My favorite in cold months is the high quality resin / rubber / silicone. One day perhaps I will try your twine idea, or maybe braid my own out of a softer yarn. I probably like a 2 fingers for 2 sides release best as a metal bracelet fastener.

·

The Rolex clasp to be honest. There are other brand that replicate the style and threw it on my Skx009j

Full-on brother!

I have one watch with this bracelet and it is the best fit I have ever felt

·

I also like the Milanese clasp, so easy to size.

Good point. If that was that strong though I'd be worried about my internal organs.

I don't have a Bonklip, but I like the idea. But the real answer is no clasp. Expansion band, baby!

Am I buying the wrong Milanese?

I do not have infinite adjustability.

I love the ‘feel’ of the Milanese as well.

I was thinking of including the expansion bracelet in the post; but like my usual word salad offerings, I thought it a bit much. I do say that both my Speidel watches and my Timex Easy Reader are effortlessly-wonderful to wear because of their Twist-O-Flex goodness.

Well I suppose ‘infinite’ was a stretch. Though I do back up its ability to satisfy almost anybody. I’ve not even met a woman like that.

The kind that are not of the butterfly type and has instant micro adjustments. I swell up and deflate like a friggin blowfish.

·

Agreed, very comfortable clasp!

It’s OK so long as it’s a Fugu. I’ve longed to be a dangerous delicacy…but have only achieved cube steak status.

Rolex is always gonna be my number one. Other than that, number two has to be this integration strap by Renato. This is the Vulcan from around 2007.

For me this has been the most comfortable bracelet but the adjustment mechanism is just superb as it allows on the fly adjustment without having to remove your watch. This is from the IWC Pilot Chronograph 43 and is also the same manufacturer and design as the A Lange Sohne Odysseus SS:
