Calling all Owners of a Swatch!

I own one Swatch…just one. I mean…I’ve got multiples of other brands, but just one of these. Furthermore…I bought my Irony in 1996…and I still haven’t gotten another one after all these years?!

Image

There are over 400 watches from which to choose on Swatch’s site…which is a daunting task of perusal. I finally decided I might drop some dough on this Simpson watch out of its new collaboration. After all…many have never known a world without the Simpsons in it.

What Swatch(es) do you own and what design(s) caught you and why?

A 1996 Swatch that's still working? That's actually impressive!

Wonderfully-whimsical!

I used to have a blue transparent chrono back in the nineties. But it got lost one of these days when i brought it to my watchmaker somehow. Unlucky, but bad things sometimes happen

Maybe it was time to let it go. But we made a deal and there s no bad feelings left, so i m fine with it

Agreed!

This Swatch style here is one of the first watches that got me into this hobby. So iconic at the time and one that should be more on WC more.

It runs very smoothly and accurately. It has an ETA “2842” 23 jewel non-hacking movement. It almost looks like it could be a high-beat like the 2824-2 but is hard to tell by the lovely seconds hand little red fish…swimming in the dial-pond.

This is one of about 10 that I have. Swatch collecting helped start me off into this horological world. I like how the outside ring on the back is the winding plate. If I pull the crown out into the first position, instead of changing a date, it changes the colors of the dots on the ends of the indices. My only complaint about this one is that it doesn't manually wind. It's like one of those old Seikos that you have to shake to get running. That's annoying when it's a Swiss ETA movement.

I like Oingo Boingo. Dead man's party was the $#!+. When they were at Rodney Dangerfield's party in the movie Back to School is the first time I heard them. 😂

I was a new waver at that time so that band was in our musical genre wheelhouse.

It’s been a great watch. After all…it’s coming up on 30 years.

Is it me or does the seconds hand look a little like swedish fish candy? But great looking Swatch!

Very much so!

This was a birthday gift from my wife and kids 2 years ago. The transparent series is for me the iconic Swatch look of the 80s/90s. If it were just me I would have chosen the fully clear one. But this one with a strip in the back makes it go well with jeans.
