Sporty Watches for Women?

Lately, I've become obsessed with getting a sporty watch or dive watch that will work for me and I can wear anywhere. Marketed to men or women doesn't matter here, just the watch itself. I'm female and can wear up to 41mm dial but nothing too chunky. Thinking of this one: https://abingdonco.com/products/elise-watch

Love the look of Tag Heuer Aquaracer Lady 300m with white ceramic bezel, but not going to shell out that kind of $$. Plus, it's discontinued.

Would appreciate any feedback on this, and if anyone has experience with Abingdon watches. Love their message and would like to support them if they do good work. Not looking to buy specifically a "ladies watch" though, so any suggestions are welcome.

Look into the Seiko 5 watches, they have a lot of variations. I think the case is 42mm, but their lug to lug is short so they don’t look that big.

·

Tudor BlackBay (the none divers) shape. These are sporty enough but also have an elegance.

My Mrs wears a Hamilton Khaki King Auto as her daily and has a Seiko Mini Tuna for when it's wet.

Tho she's recently nicked my SPB147 (Seiko 62mas copy) which is nicer than the other two with its gilded hands and indices & diashield coating.

Good luck 👍

Definitely Seiko 5, the DressKX’s especially and it can be found for under $300, here’s a pic of me trying it at the AD (for reference I’m a lady with a 6.5 inch wrist)

Those are beautiful. I have a Pagani that is trying to look that cool but not quite getting there. 😎

Sadly I didn’t, but I wish I did, cause I bought an Orient Bambino which I found too big, this size is perfect though.

Tissot Seastar 1000?

If you're after a budget diver, Seiko offer the best mid-size options. The Seiko 5 has quite a good range of 38mm watches:

Just make sure you get one from a real shop, rather than online. You can then check that the bezel and chapter rings align before buying.

This is one I'm seriously considering. The look is ideal. Any experience with this one?

Hello there! I am another woman on here! Feel free to check out my WRUW. My watches are generally sporty. I have lots of Seikos. I also have other brands like Rolex, Oris, and Zelos.

Momentum, a Canadian brand, has some nice ladies watches. I also dig some Timex designs. There are some sporty watches for women. Both are budget friendly.

I bought also a vintage Seiko or myself which is 38 mm and came with an aftermarket pink salmon leather strap. My wife got a bit jealous and it looks really nice on her.

I would not filter by women’s watches when searching. It’s a pretty uninspired lot all around. Take a look at the SRPK line for seiko. Great colors and value for price and a nice way to try out a sportier watch to see how you like it. I have Seikos, Oris and Lorier divers and love them all. Btw I’m female and wear everything from 28-41mm. Good luck with your search!

Hi, nice to meet you! Love the Snoopy detail on that one. So cool!

I’m a big fan of the Captain Hook Rado for a lady.

Yes, this is one of my top contenders. Love the look of this one, so elegant and sporty at once.

Not too familiar with them, so thank for sharing that link. Wow, their Splash line is gorgeous and prices are affordable. Nice!

They seemed well built, the bezel action was nice and crispy, the bracelet was unique and flowy (albeit wrapped), but overall the Elise is a great model. I didn’t have a look at the Jackie.

Yes, that is a beautiful watch. Looks nicer there than on the sales site. Swoon.....

Try the new Mido Ocean Star 36.5mm watches. 200m water resistance and 36.5mm case width. Should be good for a starter sporty watch before going up to the luxury brands.

If you want no-nonsense and automatic, Seiko SKX013. 37mm.

If you want dressier and are OK with quartz, Tissot SeaStar 1000. 36mm.

If you want really nice dials, from a microbrand, and quartz, Deep Blue Lizzy Blue 36mm.

·

Don’t know if anyone said but I got my wife the new Citizen 37mm promaster and she’s very fond of it.

·

Tudor Black Bay 54 is a good choice!

Well built as well. The Torpedo line is a great watch as well.

My wife wears my Panerai Luminor Quaranta a lot. Looks good and sits well on her wrist.

Thanks for the recs. I'll search those. Yeah, I hate that most of the "women's watches" seem to be made as just jewelry pieces and don't have the great specs that others do. Just like women's clothing never has enough pockets, if any! 🙄

Never enough pockets!

That is #watchgoals for me, sometime in the future. 😍 Dipping toes in the water for divers right now, less cash to burn.

Size is relative to the observer. There are many ladies here on WatchCrunch that would scare a lot of guys away. The main problem with pictures on a website site is that there is no point of reference. Case size is not the all encompassing measurement it made out to be. Lug to lug along with the shape and angle of them is equally if not more important.

I bought the white Seastar for my wife as her first watch. It's still the one she wears the most. She even wears the white seastar over her 10k Ballon Bleu 33mm for most "fancy" gatherings.

Tissot will give you a metal bracelet with center polished links and a white rubber bracelet. The bracelet looks and feels similar to my Aqua Terra bracelet (but with sharper edges) but the only downside is the clasp feeling ike a seiko clasp. Having been in contact with the watch for a while, I can say that the build quality is surprising for the price. It's an amazing watch that you won't regret buying.

It's my wife's most worn watch by far.
