Which watch?

With no precious metal in sight, neither of these two conforms strictly to dress watch tradition (I am ashamed to confess that the Archimede even has lume!). Nevertheless, with a wedding impending (not mine!), one of them must be press-ganged into a tuxedo. Fortunately, both are svelt enough to slide easily under the cuff should they risk offending anyone's delicate horological sensibilities. Enough of that! The poll question: which works best for dress?

I would pick the Archimedes, but I'm an odd duck in that I generally don't ever formally dress.

Roman numerals just aren't my thing, unless they are in a sans serif font.

Stowa for me. I'm a sucker for a small seconds. 👌 OR.... one on each wrist and test the theory that no one ever notices our watches anyway.

·

The Stowa seems to be the standard dress watch, while the Archimede is dressy but has strong pilot watch vibes

·

The Stowa is definitely the dressier of the two, even for those of us who aren’t fans of Roman numerals on a dial.  The Archimede has a field watch vibe and would do the job, but isn’t all that dressy.

·

Both are dressy enough for the modern world (I would lean towards the dark dial). This is where a $300 vintage watch would do the trick.

·

For a black tux I would go with the black dial as I think that would look more sophisticated and low key. Don't want too much attention on my watch when it is someone else’s big day.

It is kind of hard to take the eyes off the Stowa - definitely don't want to eclipse the bride! 😂

I voted Stowa largely because I like the look better.  More character.

That said, you're probably not going to go wrong either way.

·

I voted Stowa not only because I have a thing for that brand, but this particular one just seems to suit the occasion perfectly. Very elegant if it wants to be!

·

I wore the Stowa, and nobody commented on it at all! 😜

I'm similar, but any Roman numerals in any font turn me off any watch ⌚
