Tissot is a great entry level Swiss watch. The PRX and Gentleman do a great job(both auto and quartz) at giving you a great and reliable watch for not a ton of money. The Sea Star is meh, I feel like it has a lot of potential but there are so many very good budget divers to compete with. I really, really like the new PRX chrono. As most other have said, they have an interesting sibling rivalry with Hamilton and in theory should be going after different customers. I think that the Tissot offerings are best suited in a business environtment and Hamilton is suited best for the field/trails.
I bought mine used from the previous owners on eBay. One of them came with the box and papers. I rolled the dice with the other one. I haven’t had bad luck on eBay yet.
I’m on my third Khaki Auto. I have big wrists so the 42mm versions are my preference. I “accidentally“ won my first two bidding on eBay. One black dial, H10 on the bracelet and the second was a tan dial, leather band, old movement. I absolutely loved both for different reasons. I switched the tan model to a NATO and it felt like a proper field watch with a vintage flair. My black dial was on the killer bracelet and the H10 made it a great piece in my rotation without having to worry about it stopping every other day. My biggest complaint with the bracelet model was it competed with other black/stainless watches in my collection and it wore it less because of that. I recently re-sold both on eBay to upgrade to the new titanium model and it is such an amazing watch. You can’t go wrong with a Khaki Field, 10/10 recommend.
For a while I couldn’t imagine wearing anything but a dive watch. I live near the Chesapeake Bay and consequentially spend a good bit of time on/in/around the water. It’s nice never having to worry about whether or not I can get my watch wet. That being said, I’m too fat to be an effective diver. But maybe one day I’ll give it a shot.
The original one is sold and I hope it lasts the buyer a lifetime. I think the new Titanium is going to be in my collection for a very, very long time. I bought my 2 previous Khaki Fields used and they filled a temporary place in my collection trying to figure out what I want/like. This new watch is my ideal field watch.
Having larger wrists, the 42mm autos work great for me! I just got the Titanium(no date) and I’m in love. I’m selling my old tan dial version on eBay and my black dial on the bracelet to make room and get rid of duplicates. I love the look of the mechanicals and love hand wind watches, they’re just too small for my big wrists
