Hamilton Khaki Automatic 42 vs Khaki Auto 42 Titanium

I wanted to do a quick comparison of my old(now sold) Khaki Automatic 42 and my new Khaki Auto Titanium 42. Both are have identical measurements for case width, lug to lug and height, but the old Khaki has a 22mm lug width and the titanium has a 20mm lug width. The Titanium is substantially lighter(obviously) and lacks the date complication, which I love. I think the titanium is worth every penny and the used 42 autos are one of the best values in Swiss Watches. The pictured Auto 42 is pre H-10, so the difference is power reserve is substantial. The lume is also leaps and bounds better on the titanium model. The ticking of the escapement is notably louder in the titanium case, but I think that’s charming, not obnoxious. The OEM leather straps on both are too short for my large wrists and I loved this NATO I had added to the first one that I bought another for the new-new. This titanium is the perfect field watch, in my opinion. It’s very light, has great lume, decent water resistance and is very legible.

RAF straps are like that.  Nice choice in watches and if you don't sell it you can hand it down to a grandchild. it will last that long.

The original one is sold and I hope it lasts the buyer a lifetime. I think the new Titanium is going to be in my collection for a very, very long time. I bought my 2 previous Khaki Fields used and they filled a temporary place in my collection trying to figure out what I want/like. This new watch is my ideal field watch.
