With the new Night Birch we are at 4 in under 2 years. Have to assume a Tiffany Blue model is next, cause, why not? Now that titanium is in the mix, probably should expect a Spring Drive Night Birch as well.
I’m going with 8 variations by 2024. Any takers? @HotWatchChick69, this may be a good opportunity to wager against @Deeperblue so you can change your name to something less provocative. Or more. I don’t shame the game.

2024 is playing the long game for any kind of wager, but I'd be up for that. Closest guess wins.
If @HotWatchChick69 wins she gets to choose a new user name for me.
If I win then she has to set up an OnlyFans account.
I ain't betting. My new handle...
I'm keeping it forever.

You mean you haven't been wait-listed for every single upcoming dial variation of these... oh wait. Not qua.. I mean spring drive.
Thankfully they colour matched the date wheel...

But, at this point, if you were to spend $10,400 on it, why wouldn't you just go one step further and get this instead?
Or, better yet, this?

I like her and all, but the new 9SA5 is so damn pretty. She a bit cray.

How many colors in a crayon box? Sadly, this is one too many. For me, takes away from the beauty/originality of the original.

I loved the GMT/Chrono spring drive design....and then I saw the watch thickness and, just, oof!

So, here's a genuine question: Why are other companies allowed to release the EXACT same watch, just with different dial colors, and we all drool over those new colors? GS does it, and we do this...
Honestly, I saw the press release, and I was ANGRY about them diluting the specialness of the SLGH005. But, now that I've had a moment to reflect, I'm like, "Why emotionally do I feel that Omega's new color options... beautiful. GS... screw you!"
No pitchfork here, just questionable. They dropped the birch as their new “flagship“ watch, then proceed to make multiple iterations of it, taking away any idea of flagship. For a brand trying to establish itself with the heavy hitters (they are already there in my book) it just adds confusion, especially given the pace of new versions. What is the flagship? Does it even exist anymore? Does it matter? For the person who runs out to buy the new so called flagship model, is it disappointing when the drop a perceived cooler version which sends the price down on the original? Not that I care about price, but some folks clearly do. That’s my challenge. Now, none of this should be a surprise to anyone playing along at home; How many snowflakes did they make? For the casual buyer, I feel it could sour the experience.
Knit picky critique; what the heck is a dark birch? Yes, there are black birch trees, but they are not literally black. Isn’t the idea behind most of their design aesthetics inspired from the land around the GS headquarter? They can no longer say “inspired by…” People already roll their eyes at some of the inspiration stories, models like this don’t help right?
Note, I’m also the first person to poke fun at Omega, Zentith, Breitling, etc for hopping on the crayon train, but those moves are obvious and usually on their starter lines.

Is the issue the thickness? Or the girthiness?

My wrist is 6.75" and somehow, something about the titanium construction, plus the lower center of gravity on the watch... it certainly does not wear like a 45.3mm diameter and 15.8mm thick watch.
Then again, maybe I'm just engaging in motivated reasoning, to lie myself! 😂

Yeah, I totally wonder if maybe we're the only freaks who notice these releases, right? Like, if you're a muggle, and you walk into an AD that happens to carry GS, you might look over some of the watches and be like, "Wow! I had no idea that there even was such a thing as GRAND Seiko. I thought there were, you know, $50 Seikos!" And then, maybe the sales person walks over and says, "Check this out! It's their flagship. It's called the White Birch."
Otherwise, who in the world other than us obsessive weirdoes are going to know that there are now 4 different Birch watches, right?
I think my angry emotional response was because I bought the SLGH005 as a way to say...
And all these variations make me less special! 😂
As for the "inspired by" it's supposed to be the birch forests at night, man! That, and it's also inspired by "our love of making money."

just only slightly off topic, I AM annoyed that the green one is only available via wagon train...oh I mean on line. I forget, which is it? Either way...that actually is the one I'm most attracted to,but you can't even see one. Am I wrong?
I meant inch.
Dude, you should go to the Miami Boutique and try it on wrist! It seriously does not wear anything close to what the specs suggest...
If you want, I can introduce you to the Miami Boutique Manager and I'm sure he'd roll out the red carpet for you!

Yeah, that's right. They're only available online. To see them in person, you have to become a member of the GS9 Club, and go to a GS9 Club event, and they'll probably have them there to show off.

I was banned from the G7...so this may be unlikely....😂

Truly 7 inches? Just saying, in my experience men tend to exaggerate when describing things in inches b
Too funny!!!
But, it works for GS! I mean, their whole rolling releases thing has caused this amongst the brainwashed Zaratsu army - myself amongst the lot...
Every time they release a new watch, I'm literally grappling with my own arm to prevent myself from typing in my credit card details into the online order form!
I feel like it’s having the opposite effect on me. I see one I like then think, a better one has to be coming soon.
Turn the SBGJ249 on it’s side and you’ve got your blue birch. 😉

Yes, they do that too! Same with my SLGH009. It’s the SLGH007, with a slight twist. Quite literally, lol.
Well, mine is ever brilliant steel not platinum. But close enough 🤣
The watch looks fantastic! They didn’t have to call it “night birch” though

I think "The last thing you see before knocking yourself out on a birch walking through the woods at night" would have been a mouthful. :-)
Wait... 7cm wrist???

Ohh! They need a dial for walking into a spiderweb too!!
Man! We got some really amazing photographers here on WatchCrunch! Great shot, man!

Hahaha pinched it off Google, my friend. Just a dumb chicken wrist gag. 😂 I have a 6.3” chicken wrist and am obsessed with lug-to lug measurements. 😂
