New Harrod’s Tudor Black Bay
I don’t always do a post when I get a new watch, but it’s been a while since I’ve been this over the moon about a purchase. I was in the UK for work the week before last and tacked on a few extra days for myself to check out London. It was my first trip to the Big Smoke so it felt right to add some personal time.
When I found out about the trip in January I shot an email to the Tudor AD at Harrod’s to see how long the waitlist was, and if there was any chance I could try to pick up one of their exclusive models while I was in the country. They took my info and asked me to check in with them again 10 days before my trip.
It worked out, and this past Monday I had my appointment at Harrod’s to pick up their exclusive version of the Heritage Black Bay with the green bezel and accents. And I can’t stop wearing or looking at it. I wore my GS for a bit today, but then switched back to this one half way though the day as I kept thinking about it. I know, I have issues 😂
I’m pretty sure the combination of this being my first trip to England, the fact that the amazing @Deeperblue coordinated a meetup with some Amazing folks while I was in town, this being an exclusive (gorgeous) model only available from one store in the world, and the purchase being part of all of those amazing experiences will make this a very special watch for me that I will always cherish. I love having this story and experience tied to the watch 🥰. Makes it feel extra special.

Seasoned traveller though you are, I think it took some confidence to turn up to a Meet Up by yourself in a foreign city, and country. A lesson in the benefits of stepping outside the comfort zone!

Beautiful color scheme. The Brits have a way with green (think Wimbledon, Jaguar, Bentley...). And ofc the fact you can only get it at that one place in the world gives it something rather special. Congrats.

It also came with a fabric nato (pictured). And I agree, having a watch tied to an amazing experience/trip is really special!! I love it even more because of that 🥰

I really like the Harrods. Probably the only Black bay i'd actually buy. Interesting to hear about the purchase process, i wondered if it was possible to just walk in off the street and buy, or if it was more like a Tudor AD waiting game.

I am hearing now that the waitlist is very short and some folks are able to walk in and get one same day, which is a much better customer experience. I'd love to say this is the only black bay I would purchase, but this is my second already, and 3rd Tudor..... The affliction is real.
