New Jubilee bracelet for Duro
Hi there
Well I’ve been modding various watches lately, particularly my blue Duro, I have added a sapphire crystal with magnifier and an orange second hand.
The final piece of the mod was a jubilee bracelet, purely because I do not have a jubilee in my watch horde and I like the look of them.
So I browsed Aliexpress and found this option….
The finish of the metal both polished and satin is really good, so much so, I think it really matches the watch’s finishing, the bracelet is very comfortable to wear and the links move nice and smoothly.
The engraving of the marlin is light but a decent depth on the "Casio" marking on the clasp. I guess with wear the marlin engraving may probably scratch over fairly quickly but time will tell with this….
The lug connecting links are hollow but that’s ok with me and they fit really well to the watch. I found removing and refitting links was awkward probably due to the small individual link parts that jubilee bracelets have, but with a little patience this was overcome!

The bracelet with the Casio and marlin branding is available with 3 different link options.

He has and it’s a nice strap, but with shipping taxes etc it’s just too pricey. This strap is pound for pound super quality and considerably cheaper shipped halfway round the world👍🏻

I can appreciate that. But Long Island’s business vs. Chinese Ali directly? I’ll pay the extra price. I’ve enjoyed three great customer service experiences from him.

Sure here’s a link for the strap, can’t find my order as I think they may have been picked up about "Casio" on it however the marlin is still on the clasp. there are several sellers with 3 styles and different colour options. If you search Casio Duro bracelet mdv-106 on the Ali app you’ll find plenty around £7-10 plus tax it pays to keep looking for the bargains..👍🏻

I drop some photo’s at the end of this message, to do any mod you’ll need a decent watch repair kit, case back opening tool, spring bar tool. To do the hands you’ll need hand removers which are levers and some hand setting tools.
To change the crystal you’ll need a press with dies
Some magnification is essential, I use a head set with a light for my close work such as setting the hands.
For the Duro the hands are 120,70,20 hole dia and there are hundreds of choices available …

Marc’s bracelets are manufactured in China so not sure that is fair to the Ali bracelet dealer fwiw. Similar quality but cheaper taxes and shipping is a legit consideration.

Point taken. However, I will still be supporting an American counterpart’s business and his pocketbook. That far exceeds the alternative in my opinion and particular scenario.
