First post!!

Just wanted to share my mini collection. I am also looking into a new addition, any suggestions maybe something dressy and within the 1500$ range? (I have a wrist size of 7.25 inches)

- Hamilton khaki navy scuba auto

- Bulova lunar pilot (45mm)

- Shinola Monster Lake Huron

Nice start & welcome

Welcome. Nice collection. I’d say a CW Twelve (in the right colour) could do dress duties as well as integrated sports?

The young man who was dating my younger daughter wanted to make a first serious watch purchase decided on a quartz Shinola, a few years later when the couple agreed to marry, his mom gave each a budget to buy some item that was selfish entirely for his or her own use, he bought a more expensive Shinola. I am making the same suggestion here to you that I would have advised him, look for something from Longines massive catalogue, pre owned if the budget doesn’t fit.

Welcome 👍🏻

Welcome to WC and that’s a great looking collection. For a dressier watch the C65 Dune from Christopher Ward might be worth a look.

Been hearing good things about it and CW normally do a good job. €950 so within budget.

And you gave the young man your blessing?! I’m not sure I would have🤪

Honestly, he is a very fine young guy who is just not like I am! My wife ordered me to help him shop for a suit for his walk down the aisle so that he might not be tempted to wear his sweats and one of his effing Shinolas. He has worn that lovely DB armour ONCE! He did have the intelligence to borrow a Calatrava from his bro in law.

I have been warned by several fellas that know better than I, it is not natural to have a perfect relation with the desperado with your Princess! It remains a work in progress. He has progressed to G-Shocks! I never actually gave my blessing, I became emotional embarrassed that tears were forming.

So it’s not official since you never gave your blessing.

GShock is a first step. If he goes to Apple Watch you might need to throw hands 🤣

There is a lot of hate for Apple Watch but the fact that Mickey is a dial option brings me into the smart watch corner somewhat, I am not a hater. One of my best watch enthusiast buddies cautioned me when I said the Hermes Apple Watch was on my radar to strike some nerves, he said that we might not continue our decades long friendship should I taste the fruit. I am not religious but after original sin there has been the curse of sophistication.

Welcome! How's that Shinola treating you?? Been intruiged by the brand as they are somewhat close to home (3ish hours to cross the boarder into Detroit) but never known anyone who has actually owned one. Would love to hear your experiences with it!

Welcome! I'm a sucker for an orange dial, and that Shinola pulls it off excellently.

I love the shinola. It was a high school graduation present from my parents, they picked the orange, which did not disappoint at all. I really fell in love with it. My father is from Detroit so he felt shinola would be a nice pick. My overall experience with it is great. Probably my most worn watch. The orange dial really adds to any outfit and i think is very flexible with many different straps. The one thing you might have to get used to is the weight. It’s a pretty heavy watch 136g. Additionally the rubber strap that it comes with is pretty awful. So take that into conserderation.
