Help with new diver recommendations

I want to add a diver to my collection, my budget is under 1500$ usd, I’ve been looking at a couple seiko pieces but the unreliable movement has made me want to look elsewhere. Any recommendations?

I look for:

Max 1500 bucks, automatic, 200 WR min and 38-42 mm.

There are a lot of great Seiko Prospex under $1000. I would not be afraid of the 6R movement. It is not exactly the most accurate, but certainly reliable.

In addition to what Robert posted above, $1500 buys you a lot of watch. There is just about every color configuration for a new Oris Aquis you could want on eBay. If you are willing to go used, even more. Rado Captain Cook, Christopher Ward, Farer, Doxa, etc. So many great pieces at that price.

Seiko is great and easily serviceable which means money saved over time. I would reconsider including them in your options, especially if you respond to their designs aesthetically.

If not the Hydroconquest, the Marathon GSAR is an excellent choice. Currently at Gnomon, under budget on rubber and a bit over on the bracelet.

It’s a solid, durable, legit search and rescue watch. Oh, and it’s tritium lume.

Zodiac Super Sea Wolf looks great and comes in a bunch of colors.

Christopher Ward Trident , comes in at way under your budget and available in 3 sizes to suit. 40mm would be a good choice IMHO.

If CW sold on the high street would it probably be double the cost, if not more. A friend of mine has the pervious version and it's a stunning watch. Has a really good clasp with on the fly adjustment.
