PS - I do not approve of the muzzle discipline displayed, this is for laughs.

PSS - Who, in their right mind, CCW's what is apparently some form of Magnum Research/IMI large caliber d-eagle

PSSS - Who am I kidding, I would totally if I could just to pair with the #custodesspecial

Out of respect and deference to @AllTheWatches hard work I will not sully this post with the "Angel Killer"...👀🫣😝

I like both these brands. I went with knot because I feel they offer a little more, but I am actually thinking of buying one from Jack Mason.

·

Jack Mason has come a long way since their "fashion watch" days, and I really like what's going on at knot.

·

Knot seem to do interesting stuff, even kinetic. But I went with Jack Mason, because I prefer their case design.

·

You can get this irushi lacquer dial for like $600, yet Jack Mason is going to run away with it. I mean, Jack Mason is respectable and all (I met the people and saw the pieces at Windup, and they were nice), but come on.

And digging a little deeper, you can get a column wheel chronograph for a bit over a thousand.

And with Sallaz, aka zaratsu, polishing! ( And now I learn that Grand Seiko's not so unique after all.)

I respect what Jack Mason people are doing but the quality of the dials and the cases of Knot are of a different level. Handmade craftsmanship at its best and at unbeatable prices! Knot is the real deal between the two!

·

Jack Mason because of their catalog. No hands-on experience, though.

·

Wow knot for me well they are for me yes knot not no knot yes .

·

JM because they have absolutely crushed it with their recent releases. Team is great as well. I love the Knot design, but that logo...makes the watch feel cheap to me. I don't want my watch to say 'timepiece'

·

Jack Mason is beating Knot? Clearly you people don’t know Knot lol.

Yeah I need the Urushi for real

I want someone to do a side by side comparison review of a Jack Mason Aviator and a Shinola Runwell Chrono. Two great looking chronographs with a vintage aesthetic.

But for now, this is a tough matchup. I have to give the lead to Knot for their customization options. But between the two Im actually considering JM for myself.

·

Wow, this is an interesting match up! The artistry in the Knot designs is definitely obvious... Just look at those beautiful dials. But I was equally as amazed at the amount of detail that Jack Mason puts into their designs after watching their video series about the new dress watch. I own a JM stratotimer, which is clearly made very well, but I was shocked to find just how much detail that they're putting into their watches. It makes me really appreciate the brand more and a very proud owner of a couple watches.

I'm going Jack Mason based on personal experience, but I'd love to see a knot in person one day.

·

My Stratotimer is one of my favourite watches and I really like where JM is headed since its release.

·

is it just me or is this knot "auto charge" watch basically a spring drive movement???!! That's impressive

The dial is too busy for the sake of being busy, and the case is too polished...

Not all of us like the same things.

Ok, this was a weird one for me. I couldn't find a way to differentiate between these two. I know that sounds a little weird, especially since their offerings are quite different. The reality was that neither story, nor either offering pulled me in one direction or the other. I guess the reality was that I was completely ambivalent. So, in the end it was the #knot website that felt like a massive shopping mall that actually pushed me away a little, so that leaves my vote going to #jackmason .

·

I voted for Jack Mason because I’m more familiar with the brand, not too familiar with knot but their watches do look great!

·

I like that Jack Mason has really been refining their design language over the last couple years. I wish they made a non-GMT Strat-o-timer (I don’t get the GMT craze). I love the Hydrotimer and may have to get one some day. And the new Ellum looks unique enough to make me consider wearing a dress watch.

I’m new to Knot, but looking over their catalog … was a lot to take in. I’m less familiar with the brand, so maybe I’ll find some gems upon closer inspection, but nothing particularly grabbed me. Maybe I just need more time, or more years as a collector? For now, I’m going Jack Mason.

Poll closed for this matchup. Congratulations to Jack Mason!
